Recommend me a clip on Tacho
As the name implies...can any one recommend a good clip on rev counter?
The one on the Bonnie pretty much only has two readings. 0rpm and "somewhere below 4000rpm". The whole set up is purely mechanical with 53 year old Smiths gauges and drive cables.
I'm gonna get the gauges sent off for a full rebuild over the winter, but in the meantime I'd like to know I'm not gonna blow up my (rev limiter free) engine. Will also help with things like setting the timing and getting the right idle speed, plus generally getting a sense for what 3500rpm actually feels like on this bike etc.
I see you can spend anything between 10 and several hundred quid on this. Anyone know any good ones?

Koso ones are good, but the £20 ones off eBay work fine

Go kart forums are good for this sort of question from what I've read.
I had a Koso on my R100GS and it did what it needed to.

Thinking about it, I've got two mechanical and one electrical cheapy rev counters in the garage doing nothing, your welcome to borrow one of them if you want to try one.

BTW it needs a 12V feed, I'm assuming your Triumph is 12V?
