My GSX-S needs a new rear tyre, it has Pirelli Angel STs front and rear at the moment and I've no problem with them, a new rear ST is £92, but a dual compound Angel GT 2 is £142, so will I get 50% more life out of the dual compound tyre?
The ST is worn out in the middle by the way, the sides still have plenty of tread.

Power 5s are dual compound. I got around 3500 miles from a rear and double that from the front. I've used Michelin 2ct stuff for so long now I don't know how it compares to other non dual brands.
I've just put on Road 6s which are also dual compound,hoping to get a few more miles. They seem grippy enough for my needs,so far. £285 for a set with £30 cashback.

Duel compound will last a lot longer. The Dunlop Roadsmarts on my XJ6 were toast in about 4k miles... rubbish for what was supposed to be a dual compound sport tourer, and Dunlop's brand new tyre! Under some close questioning the Dunlop rep at the bike show admitted that they were actually single compound as OE tyres. Replacements lasted about 8k, but were still much more expensive and no better than my dual compound Conti Motions.
