Now done over 1500 miles, rear tyre is getting a bit square, which is my fault for riding like a twat, and I've discovered the speedo reads fast by a good 10%, if I go past one of those signs that tell you your speed, when the sign says 30mph, my speedo says 33 - 35 mph.
So it really is a modern UJM, right down to the very optimistic speedo.
1500 is good going... you're more than double what i'm on and bought it way after me

It might be nearer 1600, I'm just really enjoying riding it, I think exotic bikes are wasted on me and I enjoy riding a fairly bland commuter bike more, it's really easy to ride, I've even stopped caring that the rear shock is a bit basic.
I stopped at Krazy Horse on Saturday and the MV Agustas don't appeal to me more than my cheapy Suzuki

The 1000 is the same and I'm loving it. Loads of salt around here or I'd have been out on mine yesterday. Did 250 miles in a weekend and nothing in the last 2 weeks
No salt round here, it pissed down here late last week and washed it away, but there was a bit of sand on some roads.
Over 1700 miles now, rear tyre is on it's last legs, fancy some thing softer than the Angel GTs that are on it, so that'll be £300 on a pair of tyres, probably Metzeler Roadtecs.
Went past the 2000 mile mark today (my mileage, total mileage will be about 11,500) still enjoying the bike, I've even grown to like the rear shock, it's budget crapness keeps my speed sensible.
Rear tyre isn't as bad as I thought it was, I've had a read of what's legal and it's got a few hundred miles left in it, it's also not feeling squared off any more, this could be because the weather is warmer.
Today I have been playing with the traction control, I've discovered you can turn it off while moving (I was told by the Suzuki dealer you couldn't) and that throttle response is a lot better with it turned off, the bike is also a lot better on bumpy roads with the TC off, as it doesn't cut the power every time the rear wheel loses contact with the road. It also pulls like a really crisp two stroke in the power band with the TC off.

I've never had a bike with anything more than abs,so I dunno if I'd like it or not.
I kinda like the idea of traction control if it stays unobtrusive and just acts as a safety net if there's kak on the road surface,etc. I don't know if the road stuff is that sophisticated yet,but it'll probably get there soon.
ZH2 TC is flawless, you might get a slight very smooth slide, look at the dash and see the TC light flashing as your powering off the corner.

OK then, I managed to fool the anti wheelie the other day and got a face full of TFT dashboard (well that's what it felt like, probs only a foot off the deck).

Funnily enough I've turned the TC on mine down yesterday, can do it on the move. I've left it on though but might try it off if throttle response is changed just to see. Not having huge faith in the fitted tyres I think mine will stay on broadly as like the idea of it saving me in an oh shit moment.
Today we went to a bike show at Sonham Barns near Stowmarket, bike was parked on the VJMC stand because I was helping out, I got endless questions about what's it like, and that sort of thing, it for more interest than a lot of the bikes that were actually vintage.
It's two years old on Friday, should I have a birthday party for it?
Went out on it last night to the local VJMC meeting which meant going along some fast bumpy roads, the rear end wasn't great, feeling over sprung and under damped, so today I'm investigating rear shocks, do I buy the £325 YSS or the fully adjustable £771 YSS, I'm leaning towards the fully adjustable.
Just comes down to how much money I want to spend, I'm not convinced I need the adjustability of the £771 shock, it's only ever going to be a road bike and how the cheaper shocks are damped works for me.

WHat about Hagon? They'll build a shock to your weight and requirements.
