See, I'm quite sad to admit that I haven't worn stilettos for about 6 years :( :( :( Still have a fantastic pair in a box here, but wouldn't wear them here, even if had the balance!! LOL A bit out of practice :( LOL

Decided to start my Kawasaki up, don't think I've started it for two years, and that was on a different set of carbs, put some petrol in it, attached a battery and it cheerfully burst into life, a bit to cheerfully as it just sits there revving at about 4000 rpm no matter what I did with throttle, tick over adjuster or choke, which indicates it's got an air leak between the carbs and the head. It also drank a load of petrol in the 10 minutes I had it running, and I may have to put the generator back on it, as the rev counter goes weird as the battery voltage drops.

Kawasaki fixed, took the carbs off, have them a clean, set all the air screws to 1.5 turns out, put it all back together and left the air filters off, it now runs like it should.

Managed to get a toosh out on the bike for an hour,so that's the shiny surface off the new tyres and business as usual next time out.

Had a look for a steam train shot, but the one I was after was locked up and out of sight.

I've had nine days off of work and not a moment has been wasted! Naps are very important too - essential for good mental health and well being.

So here's the best bits from the last nine days.

My brother was at my Mum's until Friday when the full time carer moved in. It's going really well. For the first couple of days I kept trying to think of something to worry about and then coming to the conclusion that my Mum is fine and there really isn't anything to be concerned about. Disengage grown up mode.

I did a ride assessment with The Spin on Tuesday, results tomorrow.
I have visited a few friends, one of which gave me lots of rhubarb - the crumble is in the oven now and I've enough to open a stall at a farmers market. I will deliver this to my Mum and the carer as soon as it's cool enough to carry.
I met up with my riding buddy Tony who is a pyromaniac, I mean he lives in Lewes and is a member of one of the bonfire societies. While chatting to him in his garage I suddenly realised that I was surrounded by explosives, flammable liquids and mini electronic incendiary devices  We went for a ride in the opposite direction to Hastings as it's the Hastings run today. Lots of traffic and bikes about.
I have submitted my application to be a member of one of Lewes' bonfire societies  Lets see where that road goes.

That would be unexpected but so long as it ends with a few pops and bangs, I'll be happy.

I've done the same. With a red one.
At least you wont have had to do the tar removal phase.

The last car was black and was a nightmare. The current car is Essex White, it' surprising how long is stays clean in comparison.

My old space grey beemer never looked dirty from a distance.

It's not dirty, it's the endurance racer finish.

I bought an Escort once what was a right shitter with no MOT. 50 quid and another 300 to pass an MOT. It was just to get by for a year what it did well but in that year the previous owners shit was still in it as well as mine when we scrapped it. It never got washed once apart from a wipe of the headlamps now and then.
Present car is about a year and a half old. washed once. Work van is a year old and white. Never washed apart from headlamp wipe. No one seems to park to close to a dirty motor what is great. It must give off a vibe of ill just bash my way in and out the doors what TBH i would anyway. Washing cars is for the day you take pictures to sell them. The van still has oily finger marks on the wings from when i swapped the engine almost 12 month ago

Not so much today as the last ten days!!

Moved into rehab/reeducation on the 1st to sort out my shoulder again which has been royally FUBAR'd by the using of crutches for almost 9 weeks. They are also sorting the rehab for the tibia plateau fracture! (Not so important to me as that doesn't hurt - the shoulder bastarding does!!! )

First thing the physio did was stop me using the crutches to get around. I have new wheels. (Nearly put this photo in the new bike thread, then realised it said new BIKE, not new wheels!! ). I only use the crutches in my room now and it has made SOOOOOOOO much difference to my shoulder. The wheelie thing is interesting though as I can't use both arms, so I have to use my feet to drag it around!!

Image

The worst thing about the shoulder break has been that I've not found painkillers that work. This has been a bit frustrating at the least  In the last rehab centre, we thought that the drugs worked, but TBF, with the nerve damage, I suspect I just didn't have the same amount of pain as the first time!!! And by the time I left I was back on Acupan and Paracetamol that really don't do much.

Here, they upped the meds until I am on a slow release (not sure exactly how that works!) Tramadol Hydrochloride that I take at about 5:30 (when I wake up, think that's when the night nurse checks I'm still breathing - can't think of another reason to wake up then except that a noise has woken me!) and again 12 hours later. And 1g paracetamol 4 x a day. Plus 4 x acupan. Plus 4 x quick release tramadol   Ok, It hasn't worked 100% but I am in much less 'shouty' pain!! My arm is generally grumpy and sometimes hurty, but not as bad as before. So, WIN!! :D :D

Luckily I've only needed ice for the knee, but that might be cos I'm taking so much of everything else!! LOL

Sadly, I'm nowhere near spaced out!! LOL Occasionally get a bit spinny, but maybe once every other day! Think I'm a weirdo as most people I know are spaced out on one tramadol tablet, I'm taking loads with almost no effect!!

And, with the goal of being able to read French in mind, I bought this magazine the other day. Ok, been too tired to read it so far, but I've been happy looking at some of the pics!!

I got given tramadol when I fell off my 400 - was ok for a couple of days but found them too strong .
Controlled drug now .
There seems to be more bike magazines in France (is this the case?)
