I had a pair of Oxford panniers in UK and they were great.
But the new ones look smaller.

Are they still as good?

Strap on luggage has come a long way in the last 20 years from the ubiquitous Oxford throw over panniers i always lobbed onto the sports bikes for trips away

Me and mate Gaz with the ZX6's at Le Touquet for lunch on Bastille weekend 2004 i think ....... luggage everywhere as we were marshalling in France for the weekend



I am spoiled now with full solid luggage on the Multi which can all be removed to strip the bike down for normal riding

This was another option a few of us from VD used on sports bikes ....spare rear seat drilled to take a Givi mount so you end up with luggage tucked behind you with little effect on how the bike feels for sporty trips and packing light

I have a Held tail pack, which is pretty good. Straps go under the seat and clip to the side of the pack. Even though I have a top box, I like the tail pack for distributing a load - I'll typically put water bottles and my puncture repair kit in it. The other day I bought a Givi 15l tank bag, prompted by the fact that I need somewhere to put a smartphone and battery pack for the Welsh rally. It uses a 'Tanklock' system, which enables you to clip it on and off the tank. I've tested it and it's OK, but it does reduce the turning circle a bit, and when I use the Garmin GPS with it in its usual handlebar mount the GPS obscures part of the clocks. So the tankbag will be my 'last resort' luggage, eg for camping, when stuff will be strapped to the pillion seat and I can't use the tail pack.

You can adjust the position of the ring thing under the tankbag so it sits better on tank.
