Re: S1000RR Sport 2022
Went out again today to take the mileage to at least an amount that would mean when I take it for its service on Wednesday I’d have the 620 miles that’s required for the run in period. It’s 35 miles to the dealership and I’m currently on 626 miles so job complete, thank fook!
Degreased the chain and lubricated it, it’s looking tip top again. The chain slack is quite a lot on these bikes, 45mm-50mm, I think that’s the most of all the bikes I’ve ever owned, I can’t remember what my previous S1000RR was, don’t recall it being as much as that but maybe it was.
Everything is good, nothing to complain about, bike is running sweet, just need this 9k limiter removed and we’re good to go.

Re: S1000RR Sport 2022
Finally today the run in service is being done, goodbye 9k rpm limit.
GPS lap trigger is being activated today so I will price up the gps logger and purchase that at a later date, once fitted it will allow me to utilise the lap timer on the dash without having to use the flasher for each lap and will also give me full data logging if need be.
I always used the Aim Solo 2 but I’m sick of having to mount that on the bike and I’m not a fan of manually triggering the lap timer that comes as standard so this was the best option for me.

Need to enjoy it, plus it will take my mind off the Toprak JR incident, it’s consuming my life right now. The wife’s like “ffs shut the fuck up”

Plus I’ll have to get used to it, I have a feeling it’ll come alive again after 9k

Re: S1000RR Sport 2022
I reckon you might be right there - I've not ridden the current shift-cam one, but I have previous generations and they have a bananas top end , and my understanding is that yours has more than them at the top as well as the bottom end
I think it's limited in lower gears though ( like a few other current bikes that can be removed with a re-flash if wanted)- this apparently shows power runs on a stock 2020 bike
Red = Second Gear
Purple = Third Gear
Green = Fourth Gear
Yellow = Fifth Gear

Re: S1000RR Sport 2022
I think the power is only limited in lower gears when you are in Dynamic or lower. According to the manual Race gives you full power in lower gears, and obviously in ride mode pro you can tailor each mode to what you want.

Re: S1000RR Sport 2022
Taking ages because of the activation code, 3.5hrs still to go in the download. I wasn’t expecting that, will go for a dander to find something to eat. I’ve got the headphones and phone charger with me so Netflix has been getting a bashing.

If I were them I'd send you out for a ride on one of the loaners.
Have they got a nice 310 you can borrow for a few hours?

They've been checking the ECU for inappropriate behaviour and liaising with the relevant authorities,they'll not be lending Wull anything.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Wed Apr 27, 2022 1:16 pm If I were them I'd send you out for a ride on one of the loaners.

Maybe they're just waiting for the Bizzies to show up if they've checked the ECU

Re: S1000RR Sport 2022
That’s me finally home. I can confirm the bike is a ballistic missile! The roads were very busy so couldn’t manage all out madness but it seems to have some punch from 9k onwards making the front want to lift, just how I like it.
Not sure if I was in 5th or 6th at this point as everything was a bit of a blur but a good 1-1.5k left

That looks like one of my Sunday morning commutes to work.........
"Of all the stories you told me, which ones were true and which ones weren't?"
"My dear Doctor, they're all true."
"Even the lies?"
"Especially the lies."
