Getting kids into MX

Post by Hawkman »

A bit quiet in here lately, but I'll here first.

So the both my boys love bikes (funny that), and have been to a couple of local MX tracks to spectate. Got the 6yr old an MX lid and goggles from local KTM dealer, but am on the scrounge for a PW50. Any pointers of where to source? They seem to be either nearly new and near full retail price or 20 years old and wildly fluctuating price wise.

Also after recommendations for decent kit suppliers? I used to use RaceSpec and Dirtbike Store when I was still riding regularly. 24MX seem to be fairly popular given the amount of awnings and branded kit I see around tracks.

Finally any pointers to MX specific forums?

Cheers - managed to get some 2nd stuff like shirt and trousers, have gone new for boots, helmet, gloves and armoured jacket. Yeah - found the MX forums v hit and miss.

We're fairly lucky in that we have a couple of options for MX tracks nearby and an enduro practice track about an hour away. Got a good PW50 too. Now just to see if he takes off with it. Like the local pump/BMX track so hopefully it will catch on...
