I think they are Suzuki (and Kawasaki) spec Dunlop D214s. Not even sure you can buy the exact same tyres as they are OE bike versions. They get warm to the touch but don't provide much feedback at all and also tip in funny. They need a bit of a hoof and then fall over. Doesn't sound like they last long so will probably only last this summer before I'm back on PR5's.

Just booked 1st service. 6th May. They said if I was at 7-750 miles it wouldn't be an issue so don't worry about miles before then.
Ordered a replacement bolt of the front mudguard as that was missing when it arrived and also the 2 replacement screws for the horrible reflectors that are on the mudguard currently. And finally the proper GSXS tank pad just cos.
Need to get around to fitting the crash bungs and top box cos I've been too lazy. Warmer evenings/afternoons will help can sit out with a beer and spanners. Having said that if I haven't done it by then St Neots said about half hour labour to fit the crash bungs but I really should sort that!

Not yet, currently they are at the manufacturers set 36/42 as I checked em when it arrived and a couple of times since and not moved. I've not lowered them as I find it slow to turn compared to my Duke as is as tend to find lower pressures make the steering even slower. It's a big 4 cylinder bike that does over 150mph, it's not going to turn in like a single cylinder bike with a maximum speed of 110mph.
BTW had a look at a 1000 Katana on Saturday, picking it up off the side stand it felt lighter than my 750.

Yeah it's never gonna turn like the Duke but figured lower pressures would slow/make it feel heavier on the typical b-roads I ride. The 1000 is lighter than the 750 due to the alloy frame/swingarm compared to the steel jobs on the 750 apparently.

Talking of mods with the OE can the GSXS is louder when you are on the bike than my brothers Akro equipped Z750 I'm guessing this is cos the pipe exists under your foot so closer to your ear but it sounds epic when you twat it one And to be honest I'm happy with I can hear it and not many others can. Although my brother did say following me it was surprisingly loud for OE.

Good point but I'm hoping in summer they might feel a bit better. Yeah but I'm a tight arse and doubt the tyres won't grip they just don't feel great so at the moment they'll stay esp as I'm still adjusting after 15k miles/6 years with the 690. Plus got a £200 service on the 6 May first.

I picked a friend's MT10 off the sidestand when it had a full tank of petrol and it felt like mine when the tank was near empty.
Then I noticed my bike lies at a greater angle on the sidestand,so you've further to pick the bike up and it feels heavier.

The Dunlops are ok on a warm/sunny day,there are lots of folk saying they are dangerous,etc,but for Summer use they are useable.
On damp or wet roads they are worth the watching. Very skittery and untrustworthy.
I stuck mine for the running in period and up to about 3k before putting on a decent set. It was like a new bike.

Just found a 2016 BIKE mag end of year long term test round up of all their bikes. Including the then new GSXS 1000. The test was over 6 months 4500 miles.
Overall they raved about it which is nice, essentially they said as a roadbike it's hard to beat with road focused decent feeling suspension and a great engine.
Interesting bit was they had a section on the tyres, which they praised as being good for OE tyres with no issues with them at all! Shows how personal tyres are I guess.

Well this is it. To me they aren't terrible just not great. Kinda muh as tyres go. I should imagine that new tyres will feel better but it's not totally spoiling things at the min so we'll see how we go. If I start feeling like they are really holding me back then I may change them but at the moment I'm still adjusting to an extra 50kg and 80bhp and the tyres don't feel dangerous or anything. So my thoughts are suck em up this summer and see how we go. And as you say there's huge cost of living increase which I've not helped by buying a new bike, buying stuff for it, insuring it, about to service it at a dealer etc. I mean £300 is at least 3 fills ups at todays prices

I find the front is very susceptible to tyre pressures. 36 is perfect.
