What you want is something worthless, that only takes up garage space and fills the need should you fancy a ride.

Ditch the road bike and have a track bike each. Road riding doesn't always fill me with excitement, but a trip with a night out or trackday really does.

0 interest in track, I don't know how many days in track I've done but it's over 150 now.

The thought of spending that much money on a trackday these days just is laughable to me in honesty. We're at Silverstone today, even without a hotel etc it's a £350 day out.

Started loosening off bits on the Triumph to get the swingarm off. Will do the rear brake caliper next... Need to strip and clean it anyhow. Loosen up the bottom shock mountings as well. Abba stand will be useful.

Ditch the road bike and have a track bike each. Road riding doesn't always fill me with excitement, but a trip with a night out or trackday really does.

I liked that post, not for the suggestion for @weeksy to get a trackbike, as I'm sure that wouldn't do it for you, but the second sentence which I completely agree with - I've ridden a bike every day for the last 4 days, and it's been brilliant.
Thursday was a spur of the moment last minute (booked less than 24hrs before) trackday at Donington which although it didn't involve a night out / overnight stay (which is usually a big part of the fun/adventure for me on them these days) was brilliant, and the best track day I've had in absolutely ages- I calculate it at approx £220 in fuel, diesel, snacks etc, so yep, yep it wasn't cheap but it wasn't £350 either

And the last 3 days have been out on the roads on the Multi with OH- it wouldn't have been half as enjoyable by myself but it's been so enjoyable- I'm off to Belgium on it for a little week-end away next month, and of course at least Kev and I (and hopefully @Dodgy knees and you, maybe one of two others too ) will get to meet up somewhere in Wales/Derbyshire/Yorks etc on the June Jolly-boys trip- as Dodgy says the trips out can be great fun, as of course you know as well as anyone

I'm guessing it was because you were doing other non-motorbike stuff or had commitments that meant you couldn't do anything on the bike, as we both know how much fun it can bring when the time is right and you fancy it ( and of course they offer far more scope for cleaning and removing/re-fitting bits than with pedal bikes )

Weeksy should get a road legal 2 stroke supermoto, if that doesn't make him want to ride a bike nothing will and he should hand in his man card, get a pipe and slippers and give up.

All done. Removed wheel, drive shaft, rear hub, bottom bolt of shock mount and now I just wait for those castellated nuts to remove swingarm.

Our Wales trip was epic. But I'm pretty sure the weekend picked I'll be in Bala racing with the lad.

Weeksy, is your lad interested in motorbikes? If not yet, I suspect your interest may be rekindled if he ever wants to give riding a bike with an engine a try. He may be considerate when his poor old dad starts struggling to pedal up hill and down dale.

He's not interested in them in the slightest, which considering how much a part of his life they've been, is surprising

You need a bike(s) that you will enjoy owning, then it doesn't matter if you ride it from one year to the next, it's always there when you feel like it and you're glad you kept it. I've got bikes that rarely turn a wheel but when I'm in the mood then there is nothing better and even when I haven't used them for a few years it would still pain me to sell them.

The mt07 fits that bill as well as anything out there apart possibly from a KTM, but I don't want the character of the KTM

A few years ago when I was gigging a lot,my interest in riding bikes went through the floor. Every year when it came around to insurance time I debated selling the 10R as even the will to use it was absent.
However,now I have more time to myself and my other main interest has lessened,I find myself gagging to get out every day I can.

More than one obsession can be hard to maintain in a pleasurable way,sometimes there's just not enough hours in the day. It's all swings and roundabouts.

Wasn't able to get on on the mighty Harley this weekend except for 1 quick 100 miles loop on Friday, which is a bugger as it was a glorious weekend, but apparently family comes first and I have been putting off the brake job on daughters Mini for a few months.

So today I've booked 3 days off to make 2 4 day weekends over the next couple of weeks, you watch it bloody rain now
