Hanging cycles from a shed ceiling
I’ve got limited space in my shed and want to maximise it.
I’ve got 2/3 cycles to store and was looking at solutions to hang them, it’s not the tallest of shed’s but I am quite short so it’s fine for me
Any ways I was looking at this https://thegiftofsunshine.org/products/ ... 9767999656 but unsure if it the best option.
Any of you lot got any clever ideas???
I ideally don’t want to be removing any bits of bike to store

Re: Hanging cycles from a shed ceiling
Hang 'em in a line on the back wall? If you hang 'em from the roof the space under isn't really any use.

I'd stick ladder hooks on the uprights unless you are desperate for storage.

Bar across to hang them from the saddle, like a triathlon transition area.

That means I would be unable to walk through the shed I guess

It looks pretty shallow, put it on a side wall - next to the tool cabinet/under the sockets and put the bar heater underneath?formula400 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 7:19 pmGot a work bench thereCount Steer wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 3:54 pm Hang 'em in a line on the back wall? Three bicycles in that shed? You might just as well roll them in and prop them up against the wall. Find somewhere else for the toolchest.
By the time there's three bikes in there, there won't be any room to do anything in that space.

Unfortunately I went as big as I could for my man cave, we have only so much garden space to lose.

Or indeed down. Pop a vaulting horse next to the neighbours fence, get digging, and you could have a below ground den with a tunnel to freedom/pub.slowsider wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 2:40 pmYou're not thinking outside the box - go upformula400 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 2:00 pmScrewdriver wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 9:33 am Three bicycles in that shed? Re: Hanging cycles from a shed ceiling
Your reasoning may be sound but sadly that does not change the dynamics of this situation. Either it is a man cave cum workshop or it is a bicycle hut. It cannot be both.formula400 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 2:00 pmScrewdriver wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 9:33 am Three bicycles in that shed? If that is the maximum footprint for the building then the above comments are correct. Your only option would be to raise the whole shed up by say 3-4 feet on a brick plinth, then you might get away with hanging bicycles in there.

Re: Hanging cycles from a shed ceiling
Pretty much this unless you can compromise on demounting the wheels, that way you’ll shorten the space but not increase the depth when stacking them together.Screwdriver wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 6:35 pmYour reasoning may be sound but sadly that does not change the dynamics of this situation.
