Tarran Mackenzie to miss British Superbike opener, WorldSBK wildcard postponed
https://www.crash.net/bsb/news/1000859/ ... -postponed
Tarran Mackenzie will miss this weekend’s British Superbike season opener despite undergoing successful surgery.
The British Superbike champion has also had his expected WorldSBK debut in Assen later this month postponed.
Mackenzie, who was still recovering from an off-season accident in Cartagena, suffered a fractured left ankle injury during a day-one crash at the Silverstone test earlier this month.
"I'm obviously disappointed to be missing the opening round this weekend, especially after feeling so good on the bike at Snetterton, but it is what it is," said Mackenzie.
"The operation on my ankle went well and I'm now focusing on my recovery, working with my physio and aiming to be back as soon as we can to get our season on track. I'd like to wish the whole team the best of luck this weekend as the season gets started."

Can’t wait. I’ll be supporting Tommy Bridewell as always plus Rory Skinner.
Hopefully Sykes will go well but as always I want to see some close cracking racing.

I got all excited that my Canal + login would show Eurosport so I might find BSB on there. It does show Eurosport, but not the place that has BSB (not that surprising, but a bit of a shame )

Quite a dull race, but an unexpected podium.

All three classes were well spaced out,not much close racing.

Well who'd have thought the Honda would dominate!

Was it last year the Honda started with a few wins, then the wheels fell off the wagon?

I think so. I was saying to the missus which Jamie said soon after is that you take the first round with a pinch of salt because the nature of the circuit is not indicative of what’s to come.

Re: BSB starts this weekend. Round 1. Silverstone.
2020 when the Irwin brothers both raced for Honda UK .... Andrew won the first 2, then Glen then the rest of the pack took over. It was the short season after lockdown eased
Not a fan of Silverstone but especially not a fan of the national circuit for BSB. Knockhill and Brands Indy might be about the same length but at least they go up and down a bit rather than flat wide expanses
Some unexpected results especially for some of the title favourites but all had the same "Its a weird track, forget it and move onto Oulton" response. PBM Ducati might be looking a bit more into the data than most though after a shocker of a weekend

Re: BSB starts this weekend. Round 1. Silverstone.
The last 600 supersport race was 'eventful'.
Who could have scripted that last lap/corner between Kennedy and Ryde?
And yeah, not the start Sykes and Brookes were hoping for.
