Re: What have you done today thread?
Took the Bullet for its MOT, then over to Revs and Relics for a cuppa.
First ride of the year, I don't think I've ever left it this late before!
Had to put the yella plate back on for the MOT

Finished the towbar on the Beemer, it’s now caravan ready!!! I shall be having a summer of driving slowly on wide roads pissing off other drivers.

Woke up at 5 as Tam is away and read for a bit - did some odds and sods of DIY quietly then went out on the Fireplace for an hour - pre ride checks showed 32 in the rear so pumped it up and blast me it must’ve been down for ages as the ride felt completely different in a good way (should know better)
I’ll take it out again early doors tomorrow.

Good Friday services, walks etc. Also phoned a couple who were looking to get married next month at a Church I am helping to cover, had to put the brakes on the wedding at that Church as they have no qualifying connections to the Church. So they are going to have to go there for six months or get married at a registrars office and come for a blessing.
And I got the stuck 46mm nut moving with a 24" breaker bar! Nothing like leverage and muscle!

Meeting the boys for a pedal so thought I'd cruise over the 10 miles instead of driving and get some bacon

Reminds me of the stories about the old school Tour riders that were supposed to put a slab of steak on the saddle/in their shorts to prevent saddle sores. A few rashers of streaky should do it.

I'm not wasting the bacon and I certainly wouldn't eat it after that!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Spent the morning swearing at the mower which had chucked a drive belt.
This time it was primary drive belt. Managed to 'persuade' it back onto the pulley but it now only has a 3 speed gearbox instead of 5. Was just thinking to myself that I'll treat it to some new belts at the end of the season...........maybe sooner now!

I bought some garden furniture, and sparkly lights, that my wife really, really liked and didn't think I'd buy. So now I'm Goldenballs lol! I shall milk it for as long as I can!

Reminds me of a place I used to work, the 'canteen' certainly wasn't haute cuisine, but then it suited the the clientele ok!
A bloke at my table complained to the cook that his steak was tasteless. She walked from the kitchen to our table, scooped up the steak, lifted her skirt, rubbed it on her crotch, then threw the meat back down on his plate. She walked back to her 'cooking',all without a word.
The durty brute ate it and said it tasted better.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Went to work, which was a shock to the system after 3 weeks at home!!
Struggled to get any enthusiasm for it, did some work, then got to remove a dead bambi from a live lane. Traffic stopped, got some sympathetic looks from the ladies, tuts and throwing hands In The air from the blokes. Bambi is now bagged up ready for disposal.
Now in the garden with a bottle of wine and yum Yums!!
Lovely day aint it!!

No meat on the ones that live near a motorway. Probably tastes of exhaust fumes!!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Made the HCBs - softest I've ever made. Thumbs up from the friends that tried them (didn't talk, too busy stuffing their faces!! )
Took some over to some friends that run a bar in another part of resort. Jody told me the other day I shouldn't go within smelling distance of alcohol whilst using crutches, but I did go into the bar. Only drank tea though!! LOL And got home safe without falling over
But was good to go and chat (and share the HCBs!!)

Re: What have you done today thread?
Despite my grumpiness about my shoulder I've had a bloody AWESOME day!!!
Coffee at the cafe early - chat in French! I can nearly understand my friend when he speaks at full pace now. Not 100% but getting there!!! Woohoo!!
Nurse came on time for a change so was gone before -
My friend arrived from Lausanne for the day. She's someone I met on an expat page on FB, from Bristol so close enough that we pretty much speak the same language (neither of us has a Bristol or west country accent, but we can both put it on good n proper when necessary!! LOL).
She drove for three hours to get here.
Was pretty cool as she's never been here, so I showed her around a little bit - very little cos I can't go far!!
Had coffee at my favourite cafe then lunch in the sun at a restaurant I know (second choice cos first choice was closed ), chatted with a lady that works in the restaurant - she invited me to go there to chat a bit to practice my french, so that's cool
Then went to the tabac/souvenir shop - she bought loads including some genepi! She'd had wine at lunch so didn't have a genepi digestif because she was driving home!!
Back to my place to chat more and drink tea till I had to go to physio and she had to go home
Freaking awesome day (apart from the shoulder issues) - and what an AWESOME friend to do a 6 hour round trip to come visit for the day
