That's rather nice but think I prefer it in its original colours....KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Apr 12, 2022 8:20 am I keep going back to this one...

I know it's not very original, but I just like the look of it (including the brown seat).
If my motorhome sells anytime soon, I might go have a proper gander at it.

The US spec tank is loads nicer than the UK one. The bronze and gold is just a bit too late 70's for me.

So oil leaks from...everywhere engine related, poor engine alignment, potential cams from whatever was lying about, clutch slip, poor running. You're really selling this
It's a real mystery why Triumph disappeared isn't it
Having said that. Do it (cos it won't be mine)

Re: Triumph T140/TR7
THe whole answer,(and nothing bt the answer) is.....
Try it and see.
BUT.....
Any trump is now old, and when new they needed looking after. They aren't Japanese, so are built a bit less well (though some are brilliant due to careful assembly, on the lline or since).
It may leak oil. Some do, some don't.
Individual bikes vary tremendously.
For example, I have had four LE's (I know it's not a triumph), A couple have been extremely unrelaible, the one I had in Brizzle, before I went to Holland was very reliable eventually, even though I fixed it, and it would go where I wanted it to go as quiclky as it was able (not very!) and for as long as it had fuel in it.

The only person who said that was Les Harris, rest his soul.
The Harris Bonnevilles were pretty much a disaster. Customers bought them as new bikes, they broke down in a big way immediately, Harris refused to pay for warranty repairs.

L F Harris is still a source of good new parts.
He got going in a big way when Meriden restarted after the sit-in and refused to supply spares for 650s. Harris took that market over.
