Good race, enjoyed Marc’s determination, really Like Martin, he’s cool.
Gutted for Jack, would of liked to see him take the win.
Great for a certain JD 3rd

Cracking race. Some really good performances esp from Bastianini, Rins and Marc. Real shame Marc had that issue he'd have been in the mix. Fabio really tried to stick it to him though, either Yamaha need a big jump or Fabio needs a move.

Re: MotoGP GP of the Americas
Yesterday Hodgy and Co were discussing the open secret that Honda have spoken to Fab Frog.

Not a huge surprise. They've had a season and a bit of Pol developing the bike and it's still going nowhere until Marquez gets on it.

Yup after the opening race promise Pol is back to where he always is. He's not factory Honda material, they need a proper prospect in that seat. Having said that they really need 3 new riders and/or a new bike. Other than Marc Honda are nowhere and haven't been for years.

Re: MotoGP GP of the Americas
Honda have a quandary. If Marc develops the bike, it seems that he is the only one who can make it work. I suspect that as Marc is now having development input after a year out, the bike is heading back to being one that is harder for other riders to make work. In Marc's absence Honda built a bike that the other Honda riders found easier to ride. Now he's back, I'm guessing that the bike is regressing to a more Marc-friendly bike that the other Honda riders have difficulty with.

Remember that Cal is the only rider since Pedrosa to win on a Honda. Makes you realise how useful Cal was and how specifically developed the Honda has been.Supermofo wrote: ↑Mon Apr 11, 2022 8:22 am Yup after the opening race promise Pol is back to where he always is. Honda need to stop pushing Nakagami, he's not good enough, they need to bin Pol and they need to work out who is going to be a long term successor to Marc and get them on board quickly and LISTEN to them as they develop the bike.
Having said all that, Yamaha are disappearing down the same wormhole at the moment - as Suzuki have demonstrated that they can get faster and still handle the excuse from Yamaha that they have the "user friendly" bike that handles and doesn't need to go as fast as the others is looking less and less credible. It's on the verge of finishing Frankie's career - and he's a WC and recent WC runner up!

Re: MotoGP GP of the Americas
It was arguably the downfall of Vinales too.
In his twilight years,I bet if the Yamaha had been more competitive,Rossi would have added a few wins to his tally. It's been a long running issue and like Marquez with Honda, the talent of Fabio has masked the problem.

Re: MotoGP GP of the Americas
Probably the reasoning for the current latest rumour that Fabios people are talking to other manufacturers to see if he has options should Yamaha fail to find more power from their engine for next seasonlostboy wrote: ↑Mon Apr 11, 2022 3:12 pm

Re: MotoGP GP of the Americas
In the race the Yamaha's top speed was very similar to the others. The biggest differences were in practice and qualifying. Hmm.
