I seem to hate a front tyre much less than 36. Does 30 rear not feel like a soft tyre on the road?
No not at all. Minimum cold temps for track riding are 30f 27r so I find 32f 30r works well as a happy medium. I ran the Rosso 3 and S22’s at these pressures cold on the road as well.
I think for the Rosso 3 and S22 cold pressures for the track were slightly higher than what’s being recommended for the Power RS so maybe 34f 32r for them would have worked perfectly well but for me the 32f 30r was just fine.
6th gear @ 7,459rpm equates to 100mph going by the app which connects to the bike.
8,585rpm is 120mph.
It’s not that easy keeping it within the 7k limit but I suppose the odd occasion trip above won’t be the end of the world.
I have a sneaky feeling this bike will be pretty epic once it’s full potential is released, or at least me being able to ride how I want to ride, bike will outdo me any day obviously.
I was having a play with the cruise control yesterday, first bike I’ve owned with it and it’s very user friendly, I like it.
I’m not going to bother playing about with the suspension until it’s run in, I might set the sag for me before then when I get the chance. I have one of those Motool slacker tools which makes it a one man job.
I had it in Dynamic for most of the short run yesterday then put it to Race, I found both to be very intrusive with the front wheel coming up over crests on the road, I was on a few bits of roads where it’s really easy to get the front wheel up and usually you can hold them for a bit but they came down quickly. I won’t be pulling wheelies until the bike is run in.
I just checked the manual and it states that in road, dynamic and race shallow wheelies are possible so it’s very intrusive. It’s not until you’re in race mode pro where you can fine tune it to allow bigger wheelies that are somewhat controlled but also you can switch it off.
With regards to throttle response Dynamic and Race are the same but Dynamic has reduced torque in the lower gears. Other parameters are different between them, DDC, ABS etc.
So not really noticing anything much with the modes because I’m too busy concentrating keeping it within the rpm limit for running in, I love the shift light, it’s positioned perfectly, there’s no way you aren’t seeing that whilst watching where you’re going.
Went out again today to get the mileage up to 180 miles which means I can go to 9k rpm. I’m not 100% certain but I think there might be a hard limiter in place at 9k, Accoding to the app @ 8,964 rpm the speed is 126mph.

I had a bike with CC, used for about 8 seconds then never used again and that was on the M6 going up.
Reckon that bike needs a trackday, enjoy.
I've used CC more on 2 wheels than on 4
It's useful for mile-munching as I found (to my surprise) at constant speed the BMW version of it gives noticably better mpg than me on the throttle. On autoroutes/bahns the extra miles between petrol stops was worth having. Not so much an issue with a (much) bigger tank on a car.
(It's also useful if you're right handed and need to scratch yer bum ).

I use CC on the car all the time. It's a great way of not having to watch the speedo in 30s and 40s.
I've never had a bike with the feature, but I daresay I'd find it handy on occasion. I picked up a random right forearm arm injury which niggles on the bike after a couple of hours,so it would be useful at times.
I also play the CC game in the car, setting it at a certain speed and seeing how far I can get without knocking it off. That would be cool on the bike too.

It gets used in the car in roadworks with average speed cameras. Quite often it seems that other drivers do too and everyone is travelling about 1mph slower or faster - so overtakes seem to happen in slooooooooooow motion.

Took the bike to work today and used it whilst in the 30’s, it’s such a good feature on this bike and works so well, it’s very easy to use, along with the heated grips, love it!
It was dark during the morning commute yesterday morning and the lights on the beemer are the best I’ve ever used, the dipped beam is incredible, you don’t really need to use full beam.
Tail tidy has arrived so I’ll set about fitting that at some point over the next few days.
Thought so, been down it quite a few times. Brilliant road when you catch it quiet, always been concerned about speed traps but never seen one. Plenty of difficult to read corners to catch out the unwary or inexperienced , hence the Shellgrip round lots of corners which, due to lack of maintenance was more of a hazard than a help last time I went down there.

It’s a cracking stretch of road, once the beemer is run in I’ll be able to have some proper fun on it. Can’t wait to see what she’s like, should be good fun.
That’s the tail tidy fitted now, huge improvement over the standard monstrosity, never been a fan of the standard tail tidies. Makes the back end look much sharper, much cleaner looking now.
Video showing the hard limiter at 9k rpm, watching the video it’s very subtle and appears as if I’ve just rolled off the throttle but when on the bike it’s like hitting a brick wall.
