Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Freecycling.
Changed the fence panels in the back garden.
Was talking to a neighbour about getting rid of the old ones, he said to sell them on ebay. I think they're a bit too crappy to sell. I just want rid of them.
Stuck them on Friendface Marketplace for free.
Got a fella coming over to take two to replace ones that blew down and another bloke taking the rest for firewood, all within the hour.
Result.

Got the recommended saucer of sugary water and gently put said Bee in it the right way up. Not much seemed to happen for a few minutes, then I could see it stand. Then it walked a few steps. Then the wings moved a bit. Then it flew off!!

The last guests of the season have just left.

Has the season finished already? I thought the snow was still OK?

We've had a load of snow in my resort the last few days - but it's been warm today and it's been heavy sleet, leaning to rain so far today Bit guttingCount Steer wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 8:29 amHas the season finished already? I thought the snow was still OK?

Oh, more language happiness.
I still struggle with comprehension a bit, but one of the guys that chats with me in the coffee bar in the mornings commented this morning to the guy that runs the place how much I have improved in both speaking and understanding!!
The speaking is still better than the understanding, but I'm still very proud

I had my bolloxy appraisal and 'action plan' at work the other week. My boss asked me what the bank could do to support my learning and development. I suggested a 3 month paid residential language course in Tuscany come springtime.Noggin wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 12:29 pm Oh, more language happiness.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Not quite. Carpal Tunnel Surgery Monday then off to Biarritz as that heals. Start work on 26th April.
It's not horrendous but it's far from great. One of the many advantages of being in a private chalet is that they are not so desperate for cash as to have to use every last second of the season. They don't want to ski on shit snow. Myself and friends I have working in private chalets always finish a bit earlier. The lifts are open until the 22nd but it'll be effing dire by then. It is snowing now, but as Noggs said, any snow that arrives melts with a couple hours !Count Steer wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 8:29 amHas the season finished already? I thought the snow was still OK?

Getting the swing arm ready to install and being able to get the sleeve pressed out and cleaned up, all bearings sorted and it cost me a threaded bar, some nuts and washers, a bit of hard work and all sorted. I get satisfaction from doing it myself and knowing it is done! Just need to swap over the swing arm now.... that is another mission for another day!

Just finishing a walk with granddaughter and our dogs on the last part she's got her's on the lead and she says to the dog "Win you to the door" and nashes off as fast as she can. With the dog still on the lead.
Just a kid with her dog, both having fun.
He's the one with the very short nose in this pic of them sleeping.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Just having a few beers in town and on a table close by is a happy kiddy, with erm, problems. But making everyone smile.
A lucky lucky man came by selling sunnies and watches. The kiddy said something to him, and he grasped the situation.
He sat at their table and had the kid trying to sell sunnies and watches to his dad. Told him all the patter and sales talk.
Was so funny and the parents loved it
