Mtb mini pump

Post by Bomble »

Any recommendations for a decent mini pump to chuck in my rucksack? Possibly with a gauge, or not :D

I've got a tiny pump (think it's a Specialised one but it's about 10 years old) that I have stuffed in my back pack purely to put a bit of pressure in a tube before I fit it, but to inflate I use co2 canisters. No way I'm trying to inflate a mtb tyre to a decent pressure with hand pump.

Reason for wanting one is that I lost all air out of my rear today as the tubeless valve came loose. I had a cheap mini pump but it was junk.
I borrowed my mates and it blew it up from flat in no time, a 29” 2.6. I forgot to ask him what pump he had.
Just spoke to him to ask which pump his was and it was the same as Weeksy recommended :D It really was no effort though I only run about 20psi.

I've posted about Lezyne pumps on the other place. They're very well made except for the connection to the valve. When you unscrew the pump from the valve they have a nasty habit of taking the valve core along with them. They truly are the pump to leave you stranded.

Too late I’ve ordered one :D I believe they come with a valve tightening tool too so not the end of the world I guess. Think I have one on my multi tool too.
