I would make an exception for a 350 morini...preferably the drum braked roadster...

A mate had a three and a half in the 70s. It was a very pleasant ride, but appallingly finished. The chrome was pitted from new.

Re: As Kylie once said.."all you can do is step back in time"
I first started riding in the mid 80's when the GPZ went to the new GPzR series and the difference in styling was a huge step. I could never afford one then and only ever blagged a ride on the GPz750 Turbo which i almost flipped in first leaving the shop (i said i had forgot my bike license as i had parked my 125 round the corner complete with its L plates )
I managed to get shit GPz600R in the early 90's but it was a heap and lasted a few months then around 2000 i spotted a GPz750R locally to me for not a lot of money. Guy advertised it for 1100 quid, i took it for a ride and was happy, came back with 1100 quid in the car and his wife said "I was told not to take less than 900 for it" ....so 900 quid it was
Great bike, rode it as a commuter, touring all over the UK as a race marshal and even into France and just a fun bike after a few years on a 250 city hack to get to to work and back
Same colour scheme as this one and i still have a fondness for them in both the 750 and 900 and managed to resist a few drunken ebay bids on shitters to work on

I'd like my old Z1000st back
It got nicked in Amsterdam before I had properly finished her
Gpz fairing, GPZ front end, Harris adjustable yokes, 1070 pistons, 33 smoothbores, Kent cams, marozzochi shocks, kwaka race colours, white cut down Eddie Lawson seat, Piper 4-1 drain pipe exhaust.
I had a monoshock 16" wheel conversion and 1260 in mind!

1260 makes the liners a bit thin, okay for racing but I wouldn't want one as a road bike, though I knew someone who ran a turbo'd 1428 on the road, but I think it spent more time at TTS, V&M and VBS than in his garage, it never ran right or ran for very long.Demannu wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 3:08 pm I'd like my old Z1000st back

I jumped decades from an R90S to a GPZ900R. It was a shock. I knew that old 900R inside out.

1260 needed new liners and crankcase machined out.

You can still buy blank ones for recording onto, you need a bloody huge recording horn to do it. Friend of mine is really into that old stuff and has all the gear to do it. We actually thought about doing a techno version of "Come into the garden Maude" and putting it on wax.
Anyway, for an 80s bike, I suggest the RG250 Gamma, alloy framed and made the YPVS seem like a tank.

“Psst! Wanna buy a pornographic record?”
“Sorry- I don’t have a pornograph.”
