On the dangerous driving count, Mr Petchey said: "It is not an excessive speed as the driver was using the brakes quite heavily.

But he said that "on two occasions" the "Range Rover stops very close to the female protester".

Sir Keir Starmer refuses to answer when asked whether a woman can have a penis
I thought Goldie Lookin' Chain had already dealt with this explicitly.

How often does this happen? Derby driver crashes new Ferrari straight after buying it
A driver treated themselves to a Ferrari - and then crashed it after driving less than two miles (3.2km), police said.

The luxury sports car sustained major damage in the crash in St Alkmund's Way, Derby, shortly before 11:00 BST.

Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit tweeted the driver, who had purchased the Ferrari this morning, was unhurt and no other vehicles were involved.

The car was moved off the road and the driver arranged their own recovery.

Should be an interesting insurance claim form. ;)

Want some bangers with your chips ? (Or chups)

New Zealand’s bomb squad has been called into a chip factory after a suspicious-looking potato trundling down the production line turned out to be a grenade.

Reported in other media, but in case it's behind the DT paywall:
NHS equality chief leads mutiny against ‘transphobic’ watchdog ruling

New guidance from the EHRC states transgender women can be lawfully excluded from female-only spaces

An NHS equality chief was on Tuesday leading the mutiny against a ruling from a government watchdog that trans people can be excluded from single-sex wards.

Bosses within the health service publicly criticised guidance from the Equalities and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) which stated that it is lawful to exclude someone who is born a man from women’s spaces if there is a legitimate reason.

Tara Hewitt, the group head of equality, diversity and inclusion at Northern Care Alliance NHS Group, described the guidance as “transphobic” and said that NHS bosses should put it in the “bin”.

Her calls for NHS leaders to be told to “ignore” the legal opinion of the UK’s human rights body was backed by Kathryn Thomson, the chief executive of Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust, and Aaron Cummins, the chief executive at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

The guidance from the EHRC, which listed hospital wards, lavatories and changing rooms as places where trans women could lawfully be excluded from female-only spaces, has been widely welcomed by groups campaigning for women’s rights.
...
So I thought, who is this Tara Hewitt?

Google showed almost nothing, which is usually a sign of past white washing.

Then an obscure search turned up this link. How on earth did someone, so far out of the mainstream, become the "head of equality, diversity and inclusion at Northern Care Alliance NHS Group"? :wtf:

And what dog could “Tara” possibly have in the fight to get perverted men into the ladies’ powder room?

The UK leading the world on Ukrainian refugees - Ukrainian family abandon UK move after visa delays
A Ukrainian family has given up on moving to the UK after claiming their application took too long to process.

When the war in Ukraine started, Anton Mandziuk drove from his home in Rutland to the Polish border to collect his cousin and her family.

He then applied for them to live with him, but after weeks of waiting they have decided to go to Ireland instead.

A government spokesperson said they were moving as quickly as possible and had already issued almost 30,000 visas.

Lesha, her three daughters and six grandchildren fled their home in Ivano-Frankivsk on 5 March.

So far Ireland has taken in more than 20,000 refugees. How many has the UK grudgingly allowed in?

One of the cornerstones of Brexit was getting rid of eastern Europeans. The people currently in power only have their jobs because of Brexit so they're hardly likely to open the doors to refugees. They don't do it for brown refugees from a war we helped start, why do it for anyone else?

Hewitt reportedly described herself as an “advocate of the BDSM (bondage, discipline and sadomasochism) community”, and into “swinging” and “pet play”, which is dressing up as an animal for sex.
I'm finding it difficult to believe that someone who was born a man and (reportedly) enjoys sex that involves inflicting pain and humiliation, along with an element of forcefulness, is in a position to understand why females might not like the idea of sharing a private space with anyone other than another female (of the cockless variety).
