Good luck, hope it sorts it as sounds like it's the only thing bothering you about the bike.

I'm feeling similar with my chain oiler at the moment, can't get it where I'm happy with it. Having said that rode the Duke for 100 miles yesterday and was absolutely smitten with it again.

Yeah he reckons it may even be done by the weekend, which if is the case i'll collect it and get it fitted and tested ASAP :)

If not ready till the week after i'll probably collect on the 24th when down in Surrey Hills MTBing with the boys from here.

I kinda have my doubts about chain oilers in general, fair enough if you do hundreds of miles daily and on a regular basis, but for most,a clean and a lube now and again works too.

I always used to use a scottoiler on my bikes, but for the last lot of years I just do the above, dribble a bit of oil on the chain after a run and every so often. I haven't bought chains or sprockets for many moons,so the easy/lazy method must work for me.

If you NEED a chain oiler because of the mileage you do, you've got the wrong bike.
As per others here, a bit of lube after a ride, sorted.
Used a chain oiler once, made a mess of my boxer's swingarm.

I've had oilers before in the past with various degrees of success. I'm just lazy and hate lubing/cleaning chains. I'm quite able at doing it and the chains not needed adjustment in over 4k miles so working, but if I can I'd rather leave it to an oiler save me getting involved at all. Plus I normally use wax or castrol racing lube and both attract dust in the summer so need cleaning.

I had a tutoro and yes it's a bit fiddly, especially in weather like this. Iirc settled on it running a bit too much and just topped it up when i remembered. My chain was always oily to the touch so that was good enough for me. Hell of a lot better than conventional lubing, especially if you dont have a centre stand.

The other day i had some credit with Sportsbikeshop so i decided to buy a semi-pointless piece of stuff.

R&G tail tidy.

It was, well, interesting taking the back end apart, lots of undo this, undo that... etc... But all in all, mostly fairly painless.

First fit with loose bolts, i thought it looked a little 'separate'

If i'm honest, i still don't think it looks 100% amazing, but it certainly shortens up the back end, plus gets rid of the massive afterthought light they threw on it. The Evotech Performance is my usual choice, but their one leaves the massive light in place and doesn't look any better than stock if i'm being a little harsh.

So this is it and i think it looks pretty good.

I like the massive light, it's part of the bikes character, might as well just buy an MT-09 :)

Much better, any rear view. Probably see full back tyre from rear now. Good work. 👍

It's an improvement for sure.

Evotech has been badly affected by lockdown, they are way behind with production,so stuff takes time to get.
I've been waiting 3 weeks for my tail tidy.
It looks like the arse end needs to be stripped off because Kawasaki has hidden the electrical connectors behind stuff. Bikes really have become a ballache even to do simple tasks.

Spray chain grease, the stuff that sets like wax, is quite useful on all-weather shafties. I used it on the stand pivots. Also, a little blob could always be used to stick a leaf onto the number plate ;)
Even bland can be a type of character

Yep, couldn't get crashed bobbins off them, way behind. Got some from MGS instead. 👍

Love it. I hate the back end on these with that odd angled hideous round light, so this is a massive improv, meant for me.

Spoke to the guy and he wants £300 + £20 to courier it...

TBH i think i'm going to stick with the standard that's being Cerakoted as it's been an expensive month with cycle parts, days out, Brands tomorrow and Pembrey next weekend. So adding in another £320 isn't my brightest idea really.

Exhaust isn't ready this week, so Tuesday next week was his answer for when it'll be ready to collect.
I'll then need to work out a plan when I can collect it.

Did you repack the rear suspension bell crank bearings with grease when you fitted the shock?
Was having a play with my shock and discovered a serious amount of play in the rear end (it's a yamaha thing), popped out the bushes to find literally a smear of grease on the bearings and none in the bushings.
Packed everything with grease and feels a lot better now.
