I broke a tooth a while ago but it started hurting on Sunday. After trying to find an NHS dentist that would see me I phoned a private dentist yesterday evening and made an appointment for this morning. Dentist took one look at it and sait it needed to come outm Molar tooth at the back of the lower jaw, he had to drill it so it would come out in two halves. I'm now £144 poorer and my mouth still hurts :(
I had a wisdom tooth done like that a few years ago. It hurt like a bastard.

Just fixed my 21 year old Glow Worm Boiler.

Fan bearings had seized (a bit).

Whole thing apart and a few squirts of metal conditioner later, back together and it's as good as new.

Until the bearings totally destroy themselves.

Spent the afternoon watching the 'Thursday War'. RFA Argus and a Type 23 frigate (HMS Lancaster?) playing nicely along the south coast of Cornwall. Very few other boats to watch.

I did that for a good few years. I nursed an old Alpha combi by replacing its PCBs, a divertor valve, fan etc. Its not worth it. Get rid of it and get a new A rated boiler, it will literally pay for itself compared to that old crap.

Ah the memories of playing FOST games.

Were the hawks playing yesterday? It would have been their last day in service and 736sqdn decommissioning so maybe not.
I wonder what they'll use instead?

I'm the same with our old Maxi boiler, it's like Triggers broom, two PCBs (the last one I re-soldered components rather than replace), two fans, a valve, etc.
We keep saying we might sell up, so I'm trying to nurse it along to be the next house owners problem.
In the ten years we've been in this house I've replaced the PCB, the diverter valve, the tank stat and the pump... Twice.

I hate to think how much a tradesman would have charged for the same jobs,

Iirc, you do that for the NCI.

I stuck my head in the NCI hut at Daddyhole Plain (I think that's what it's called), Torquay yesterday. Their binoculars need colimating.

I also had a cream tea at Angel's Tea Rooms in Babbacombe. They are feeders.

Hit a new low weight in my quest to shed a few lbs (and take some stress of the ol' knees). Just 1lb off the target weight at this point - high point was 13st 6lb, now 11st 1lb.

(Hence the no alcohol regime for 12 months. May just keep going and aim for 10.5st which is what I weighed 5-ish years ago. I can still 'pinch an inch' but maybe my skin's just gone baggy  ).

I was talking to someone yesterday about this, I keep bumping into people that have lost weight and when I ask how they did it they say they packed in the booze, that's all.

But I don't drink, well rarely, so I'm robbed of an easy win :(
LOL. I wish it was that easy...I've changed things rather more than just cut out wine and beer

No, the Hawks are gone. They did their final fly-past last week.

I did dry January and put on weight. I seem to do nothing but put on weight! Probably due to my decreasing mobility, rather than what I drink or eat. Might knock the drink on the head for a couple of months then and see if it does anything...

It's Catch 22 TP. Had an arthroscopy a few years ago (damaged both doing all the healthy pursuits that you're supposed to do  ) but the right knee was starting to creak again so I needed to shift the lockdown lard...so I could exercise.....to shift the lockdown lard. Swimming was good low load/impact stuff but the pool was one of the first things to close and last to open. In the end I thought sod it and cut the calorie intake from alcohol and food, but started with alcohol - one thing at a time! - then cut the calories. Still eat pretty much the same, just less of it and now I can get out for a daily stroll again without the knees squeaking too much.

All in all it hasn't been particularly miserable and sleep is one of the things that's improved too. If I get to 10.5st I might crack open a bottle of something nice but, weirdly, I can't really be bothered. I haven't become a teetotaller, just a can't be bothereder!

I've had one knee replaced and need the other one done. Turns out I'm predisposed to arthritis as I have it in my hips and index finger joints too!

I deffo piled on some furlough frontage, which was a shame as after I had my knee replaced in 2018 I started to lose weight, but I put that back on and then some. I'm doing physio, but the more I do the more I set myself back as there is always a consequence to workouts in the following days! Physiotherapist says with me, less is more, which I'm trying, but then I don't feel I've achieved anything!

Got a steroid injection in the knee in a couple of weeks which will hopefully alleviate things and if it does I'll rejoin my old gym and get a personal trainer to get a tailored plan again.

All of that with worsening asthma and the dreaded 4 letters of COPD being mentioned, gets a bit depressing really. Think I'll go and get pissed!

Well, if you need any wine, I've got plenty that's just about  for drinking this year and next!

This morning I was painting around the garden with my headphones on. Half hour ago I took them off to come in and watch Moto2 and I heard a load of rally cars. Bloody forgot it was passing 400 yards from our house.

So popped upstairs and I could see and hear them.
As I was walking up to watch, I saw the course cars coming round, so headed home.

Boo.
