Businesses I don't quite understand

When battering up the A1 recently I noticed some of the old Little Chefs or similar had been turned into combined cocktail bars and sex shops.

I know both of these types of places exist and thrive, it just seems an odd place to have them. It's never occurred to me to go for a drink in what looks like a works canteen and stock up on French Ticklers at the same time

Yep, Little Thief on the A12 near Colchester has been changed in to a sexy gear shop!
Random place, not exactly discreet for people turning up as they are within full view of the A12 traffic

Probably helps prevent NIMBYism etc. to. Are there any differnet laws about the use of high street premises for sex shops etc? Dunno.

I always knew the Little Chef chain was a front!

There's an ex-Little Chef on the A29 that is now a cafe, "Billys on the road". Nothing much changed but the menu (and that only slightly)

I remember those! They were always a treat if we finished our dinner when we stopped en route during caravan holidays in the early 90s.

Well I -do- live abroad.

When I do make it back to the UK I have to pick my pub visits with care, so rilly cheap beer and traditional UK pub fodder aren't that high on the list.
