BTW...I forgot to say, it's my understanding that this ^^^^ is a really bad idea.

AFAIK rags soaked in certain organic oils have a tendency to spontaneously combust. IIRC it even says "don't leave rags soaked in this" on some of the tins?

Probably not an issue if its in a sealed jar, but I'd hate to be "that guy who burned his house down with an oily rag" :lol:

I met someone who did burn his house down while lubeing his bike chain. (Melting wax/oil on the gas hob).

He was working on computer systems for London Fire Brigade at the time :D (Lost everything but he did say it was quite cathartic to have a serious declutter!).
Doubt is not a pleasant condition.

If you expose linseed oil to oxygen yes. Is there enough oxygen in a sealed jar? No.

At my Mum's old office they used to prop the fire doors open with the fire extinguishers :D My Mum was a fire warden too!
