BTW...I forgot to say, it's my understanding that this ^^^^ is a really bad idea.Screwdriver wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 5:13 pmKeep a jar with a damp rag of Tung oil for the occasional touch up. Doesn’t need much.
AFAIK rags soaked in certain organic oils have a tendency to spontaneously combust. IIRC it even says "don't leave rags soaked in this" on some of the tins?
Probably not an issue if its in a sealed jar, but I'd hate to be "that guy who burned his house down with an oily rag"

He was working on computer systems for London Fire Brigade at the time (Lost everything but he did say it was quite cathartic to have a serious declutter!).

If you expose linseed oil to oxygen yes. Is there enough oxygen in a sealed jar? No.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Thu Mar 24, 2022 9:36 amBTW...I forgot to say, it's my understanding that this ^^^^ is a really bad idea.Screwdriver wrote: ↑Sun Mar 20, 2022 5:13 pmKeep a jar with a damp rag of Tung oil for the occasional touch up.
