New update for phpBB forum.

Post by weeksy »

Gents,

There's a new update for our software to https://www.phpbb.com/downloads/

3.3.1

If you recall, back in the days of setting this up 'we' employed a bit of an expert in forum stuff to help with updates, installs and other forum things we needed to get this place up and running well.

So, i'm thinking of asking him again if he'd like to help/sort. Due to it taking some time i think it's only fair we pay him for his time so was going to take £25 out of RTTL funds to do this..

Assuming you're all OK with that ?

I'll get him to walk me through the update so i actually 'do' it... But with a little hand holding.

Msotly according to people who've done it, there's no issues.. but a couple have had problems, hence me wanting a little hand holding.

Hombre,

I'm sure we're all happy with the transparency and they way you're trying to to do business, and whilst I can't speak for the others, we all gave our money freely and all trust you not to spunk it up the wall on some push iron parts, so get 'er done.

I had a long chat with the forum guru and he sent me a load of screenshots, loads of text so i replied with

"here's a couple of quid mate, you do it please"

:)

I expect the board to go down for 20-30 mins in the next few hours.

Anyone seeing any problems ?

Me,
1. When browsing in mobile device, android or Firefox and i go to 'thank' a post, using the ... button it's not displaying the list fully in Prosilver mode, in Digi Orange mode, it shows the list but is offset to the right so you only see the first few letters of it ?

There's people who use themes other than ProSilver?

DigiOrange, you'd have to be some kind of mental diehard KTM fan or something.

Like looks fine in Prosilver in Chrome on my phone.

Edit.
If I set chrome to 'desktop site' it works ok

Viewing on Android mobile, screen portrait format.

Display of a post gives the three dots menu top right.

Clicking that displays the long line you have in one of the screen shots, rather than a list.
Even bland can be a type of character

Hmmm.

You may be onto something there, if I browse with a test account that's non admin, it looks ok. But it looks different to when I'm an admin.

I don't get the three dots, just the full icons. Is it because I have the bestest phone?

Also, according to a video I was watching the other day, they're not 'three dots' they're Oreos.
