AFAIK rags soaked in certain organic oils have a tendency to spontaneously combust. IIRC it even says "don't leave rags soaked in this" on some of the tins?
Probably not an issue if its in a sealed jar, but I'd hate to be "that guy who burned his house down with an oily rag"

I met someone who did burn his house down while lubeing his bike chain. If you expose linseed oil to oxygen yes. Is there enough oxygen in a sealed jar?
