Honda Hawk 11

When I as a lad the Honda Hawk was a 650 v-twin, very similar to the JDM Bros and little brother to the Superhawk (the American name for the Firestorm).

Looks like Honda are re-using the name on a new model based on the same engine and chassis as the Africa Twin and the NT1100.

They've released some 'teaser' pics...









It's going to be part of the 'Neo Cafe' range (like the CB1000R), they teaser isn't selling it to me, I hope it looks better IRL.

The original Hawk was particularly wee and nesh though. Like a 125.

The Hawk was a council spec version of the JDM Bros.

I had the 400 as a lad and loved it.

I remember the dispatch writer based niche pamphlets of the 90s (The Riders Digest, Used Bike Guide etc) filled half their pages with badly written articles praising the Bros.

It was a cool (chain drive/alloy frame) version of the NTV650 and despatch riders loved the NTV.

Same firing spacing though IIRC? Like alot of parallel twins these days.

That's the CB4 Interceptor concept bike from 2017, totally different to the Hawk.

It's got two extra cylinders for a start.

On paper a 650 Bros suited me down to the ground, tried one & felt like my balls were in imminent danger of being crushed.

That new Hawk doesn't do the name justice does it
