Just go to the bike shop with a big wodge of cash and buy the bike you like the most, you don't need a load of internet randoms to reinforce a decision you've already made.

While that’s true it’s also fun to chat about bikes.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 1:25 pm Just go to the bike shop with a big wodge of cash and buy the bike you like the most, you don't need a load of internet randoms to reinforce a decision you've already made.
I haven’t made up my mind yet, I really don’t know what to get.

You're going to buy a GSX-R1000, a GSX-S1000 would suit you better.dern wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 1:30 pmWhile that’s true it’s also fun to chat about bikes.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 1:25 pm Just go to the bike shop with a big wodge of cash and buy the bike you like the most, you don't need a load of internet randoms to reinforce a decision you've already made.

Where does he say he wants a fairing, I thought he was manly, not a fairing fairy.Yorick wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 1:36 pmNo fairing.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 1:32 pmYou're going to buy a GSX-R1000, a GSX-S1000 would suit you better.

A fast bike with no fairing is as much use as a car with no windscreen.

Not interested in a gsx-s1000, doesn't float my boat at all.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 1:41 pmWhere does he say he wants a fairing, I thought he was manly, not a fairing fairy.Yorick wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 1:36 pmNo fairing.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 1:32 pm

I'm going to look at the gsxr1000 tomorrow but atm my list is rc8 then zx10r and the gsxr. Surprised there isn't much love for the kawasaki.

MCN put up one of their youtube 'spending a year with...' videos about the ZX10R yesterday, might be worth a watch.

And then bought one I'd never considered because I liked the colour, an impulse buy I'm very happy with.Skub wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 1:45 pmSez the man who started a multi page thread asking which bike to buy.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 1:25 pm Just go to the bike shop with a big wodge of cash and buy the bike you like the most, you don't need a load of internet randoms to reinforce a decision you've already made.

Real Men ride autos! But if I had to go for a litre bike, there is only one i'd choose The MT-10! For a manual bike, it's really manly!

He could mean something belonging to Suzuki, I used to work with Toshiyuki Suzuki, really nice bloke, but he must have upset someone in Tokyo, because they transferred him from London to Ningbo, he was seriously pissed off about this.

quite sporty enough for me
lots around for sensible money and very low mileage.

I'm still surprised at the bike I bought, though if it looked like a 1978 GS1000 it would be perfect (it'd still have to cost the same though), I guess I'm not as shallow as I thought I was, as I bought a bike for how it rides, rather than how it looks, though value for money was also a big factor.
