Both the chef and I have had really nasty colds recently that didn't show up as covid! For me at least, it was just as bad if not worse than the covid I had in January !

Thats the kicker isn't it. China did reasonably well at shutting Covid out. But given Covid isn't going anywhere and vaccines don't stop you catching it the course they have taken will be a delay to the massive infection rate that is pretty inevitable at somepoint. Unless they are gonna lock down for years to come.

South Africa did pretty well with Omicron cos a lot of their population had already had covid as well as vaccines. China from the sounds of it has very little protection through previous infection.

I meant after they exported it.

Even a few cases in China leads to massive locks downs for the whole area from what's been reported. After the initial outbreak they went the containment route rather than let it rip like we did.
