TT sounds...

Post by Dodgy69 »

Just a clip of loveliness...Reminding me of waiting for the first bike through, sitting on the bank at Sulby Bridge and hearing them on full chat on the straight . I must go back.

That sounds ridiculous, reminds me of listening to old cassettes of ago on MV's and Hailwood on Honda's as a kid not old enough to ride a moped

For a lap itself this is one of my favourites but for sounds this is my favourite. The pops and crackles on the overrun is so addictive. Incredible!

The TT is one of the few places where I like noisy bikes. That Norton with the Aprilia V4 engine was my favourite.
Somewhere out there is a really good clip of it in practice going through Kirkmichael with the sound echoing of the houses.
This is a good clip as it's not just the Norton.Gives you a feel for the TT

My favourite lap is Josh Bbookes on the Norton rotary & Derek Sheils on the Kawasaki ZXR 750.I watch this a few times a year,in fact I watched this last night.

There's also the mad lap on the Ducati v4 with Michael Rutter,it doesn't sound as good but WTF just watch the numbers on the speedo :wtf:

The speedo on Rutters bike appears to shit itself and not play every time the bike hits 180 odd.

I guess in excess 180 MPH the designers thought the rider wouldn't want any distractions,I'm sure my tiny mind would be fully focussed on keeping the bike between the hedges :wtf: :D
He also had the front wheel off the floor when the speedo ran out of numbers! :wtf:
Here's the second part of the lap, into neutral at the Gooseneck & running out of gears going over the mountain...!

It's funny how he nonchelantley parks it up in the paddock at the end of the lap, myself I'd be going for a long lie down :D

185 is the highest reading. It must be the old 186mph/300kph 'gentleman's agreement.

Bonkers to watch,anyway.

I've still got the old VHS tape of Joey Dunlop and his 'V-Four Victory' onboard lap somewhere, with Joey's laconic commentary... :D

A couple of sounds that I really like are the sounds of a switchblade and a motorbike.

How juvenile.

And working class.
