And kept the name? The whole point of the original Katana was to clothe a boring UJM is extreme bodywork (slopey tank, pointy fairing, seat, all flowing together).
Even bland can be a type of character

First off, 750 Katanas are under powered, over weight slugs, they do handle nicely though.
I don't like the way that bike looks, it will also be stupidly uncomfortable.

The seat is wrong. At least it's not brown.
I like that they've kept the original forks and brakes, rather than USD's and Monoblocs.

That tank doesn't look like it'd be too friendly in even a mild shunt

I liked the Katana (Even the 550 up) One thing about them is the tank always looks shit naked. Its one bike that needs the plastics to keep its looks. That in the OP looks Gash. Come to think about it the GSX600/750F was the same, shit tank naked.

It's a GSX750ET in a frock, but the ET tank doesn't fit straight on, the mounting points are different (but the frames are identical geometry, as are the GS1000 and GSX1100)

It would look better if they dropped a pallet load of blocks on it.
I liked the look of the original Katanas and the only one Ive seen that I thought was an improvement on the was one with a tail unit off a modern GSXR which was kind of pointy so matched the rest of the look.
The one on this thread? They've got rid of most of the bits that made it a Katana.

Doesnt work at all imo, the Katana tank was designed to fit in with the other bodywork on the original bike. This looks like any other Jap inline 4 with a tank lobbed on the top

I was never a fan of the Katana, it looked like a Honda SuperDream to me, but at least it looked well put together in its design. This has just broken that and made it look older and disjointed, a bitsa and no more.

I could ride my ZH2 through that gap in the frame
