3500km round trip to Pyrenees from Spain at the weekend. Only really cold part was the ride to the Saint Lary tunnel (at an altitude of 2215 metres, and above the snow line) on my way back into Spain. Fantastic weather and road surfaces too.

Today was a good day, double figure temps, the rain had washed the salt away and there was actually some grip from the tarmac and heat in the tyres as long as i avoided the mud and shite left by the sugar beet lorries currently picking up the harvest from the fields

140 miles on the Ducati for the first time in months after riding around doing CBT all winter behind Learners at 30-50 mph maximum. Took a while to get my head back into things and picking the speed back up but the lean angles started getting better instead of riding around upright and i have been actively trying to trust the electronics of the TC and instead of gently feeding in throttle opening it quicker ........and i didnt die

The photos were taken on the Col d'Aspin, a favourite section used on the Tour de France a few times. Hence its immaculate road surface.

Also rode the N240 along the south of the Pyrenees from Sos Del Rey Catolico to Jaca. Brilliant.

It's to be a great weekend, dry roads and a bit warmer, but of course the council have been out and spread salt everywhere on lovely dry roads and made them slippery. I kinda hoped they wouldn't do that and I could get a ride or two in.

That's it for another while then.

Yup yesterday was the only window I had. 2 days of rain and all the salt gone. Roads were very damp in the morning and later I got caught in a string of work calls. Now looks like the temps will be dropping and when it's not raining they'll be salting.

Oh well I have a top box and crash bungs to fit.

Somewhere in Surrey (believe it or not)

I think that's the ONLY photo I have from last year (let alone summer last year) that includes the bike!

Is that the Ouse Valley viaduct near Balcombe/Haywards Heath? ('Cos I think that's Sussex :D )

That"s not the same Rockster as went on the Scrambles is it! I thought you'd had a few more since then?

err - I've no idea..... but I think we were a bit further north than that?? (but it could be).

No - I bought this one only a couple of years ago (when I came back from vanning).

Intriguing...I don't know if there's a viaduct/aquaduct with that many arches in Surrey. That Rockster looks in good nick.
