Re: GSXS 1000 - Mofo's Gixxus
So extras. Think these will be bought this week.

Next after that will be an Evotech rad guard and screen. That can wait till my birthday as only in May. Heated grips will be picked up at some point as will front axle sliders (rear bobbins already on the bike).
So which screen.
Powerbronze - quite like the look of this and it fits real easy with the 2 screw holes that are already in the dash surround. Of the 3 sizes I'm thinking the middle one in the picture which is 26cm high. The small one looks a bit too small and the big one too mahoosive. Not sure if only having 2 mounting points might make it a bit flappy when I'm..er..riding briskly.

Puig sports screen - Sounds like this involves dropping the headlight mask, unplugging the dash and putting in a new small frame for the screen to bolt to. Although they don't provide new screws to account for extra thread length you need. Seems most people have to put loads of pressure on the screws to get it to start the thread, not sure why you wouldn't source longer screws? So more involved fitting but potentially more secure.

Ermax sports screen - fit's like the Powerbronze but comes with a new dash surround so you can use 3 screws rather than the 2.

Errr. None of those screens look like they're really supposed to be there. The top and bottom ones just look comical. The third one is the only one that looks like it might just have been part of the original design. Do the manufacturers make one? It would be interesting to see what they thought a screen on the bike should look like. (Assuming none of the above were designed in conjunction with them).

Not too keen on the shape of the powerbronze. Any vids on the tube.

Only a tiny fly screen type thing which doesn't do much by all accounts.Count Steer wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 6:49 pm Errr. None of those screens look like they're really supposed to be there. No and no reviews I've come across either which is the most off putting thing. Lots of reviews for the Puig and a few for the Ermax.Dodgy knees wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 6:54 pm Not too keen on the shape of the powerbronze. Any vids on the tube.
There is an MRA screen as well but that bolts to the 4 bolts that hold the handlebars on so you have a big bracket going from the bars to the screen so not doing that.

The Yoshi, then the Puig. I don't like the others.

Amen to that brother Bob. That last one looks like the bastard son of a diddy man and the Jetsons.
I'd save my pocket money or scrub some of the other bolt-ons to get the £260.
