What did you think was going to happen, it's a war, up till now the Russian's have gone softly, they will ramp up the violence until Ukraine does what Russia wants.irie wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 1:51 pm Being reported that at the same time as Ukrainian and Russian negotiators are meeting on the Ukraine/Belarus border, Russian forces are shelling Kharkiv.

Dozens of people have been killed in mass shelling in Kharkiv, the Ukrainian interior ministry says, as fierce fighting continues into the fifth day of the conflict.
"Kharkiv has just been massively fired upon by grads (rockets). Dozens of dead and hundreds of wounded," Ukrainian interior ministry adviser Anton Herashchenko said in a post on Facebook.
Sky News defence and security editor Deborah Haynes, in Ukraine, said: "There has been a horrific bombardment of Ukraine's second city. The images that are appearing... give a sense that something very horrific has happened."
Sky News has located these videos to north-eastern Kharkiv. A military expert has told Sky News that this appears to be the classic pattern for a cluster munition. In a city?Wiki wrote: A cluster munition is a form of air-dropped or ground-launched explosive weapon that releases or ejects smaller submunitions. This is Russia, it'll be thermobaric weapons next - because they have them and probably want to get rid of them by the 'Use By' date.

I agree with that. Kyiv is a feint, they're not trying very hard at all in the North.Hoonercat wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 10:45 am Donbas appears to be the main battleground and reports are suggesting that Russia is close to opening a landlink between the region and Crimea.
I'd never claim to be a military expert, but to me it seems like Kyiv is something of a red herring, designed to pull Ukrainian troops away from the Donbas region. I still think Donbas is Putin's goal, this is how he has sold it to the Russian people and it gives him an out once it is taken, having achieved his objective.

Switzerland hasn't applied sanctions. The Russian gold has no problem integrating with the remaining nazi loot.

In that case, the Ukrainians should head for Minsk and say defending the east was a feint. You can have Donbas, we'll have Belarus in exchange.

Yeah. I can imagine Putin in his war room giving it all, 'Never mind the supply line issues and casualty figures, what's the latest intelligence on what Liz Truss is saying? Your heroes Corbyn and Abbott have made a living from being pro-Russian, anti-NATO and anti-nuclear deterrent. They spent their whole careers undermining any opposition to the Russians.
Left to them Putin would be able to walk in and shit in your bathtub completely uninterrupted.

Yeah well played by the Russian fella. Like Putin gives a fuck about the UK. He said that to the UK press to get a reaction and it's worked.

Putin probably heard that a NATO country has authorised it's citizens to go and fight Russians, it might be inflammatory as soldiers could go in on unofficial business.gremlin wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 5:36 pmYeah. So the West have initiated a financial blockade, what's Putin's push back? Do we hope that anonymous and co keep the Russian state hackers busy defending Russian systems?

Re: Will Russia invade the Ukraine?
I'd like to see NATO, the US, EU UK et al tell Russia quite simply that the sanctions against Russia will be lifted when Putin is removed from office and locked up. As soon as that has happen they initiate a cease fire, remove all their troops from Ukraine and then deliver Putin to The Hague to stand trial for war crimes.
There's been way to many demands from Russia and it's about time everybody else started demanding of the Russia people that the twat who started all this is taken care of.
I'll not hold my breath mind, but getting rid of Putin will solve a number of issues.
