Van windscreens, in particular, my own personal van windscreen.
In 42 years of driving I’ve never had so much as a stone chip, that is until I treated myself to a new work Transit last year with it’s wonderful heated, rain sensing screen.
Two weeks old, stone chip,
Four weeks old, second stone chip/ crack requiring new screen. About £1000, thank fook for insurance.
Six months trouble free then yesterday another chip/ crack, bollox, looks like it might just about be repairable, then today, well I think you can probably guess!!!
That’s four stone strikes requiring two new screens and the bloody thing hasn’t done 10’000 miles yet, must be some sort of record?
I must have upset someone, is there a ‘windscreen God’ I could maybe make some sort of blood sacrifice to?

I'll second this with Santander. Someone gave me a pile of cash last week for an item, i had a struggle trying to find out where and when i could actually put the money into my account. It really shouldn't be that difficult.

Several banks allow you to pay in at post offices, but it needs a printed paying in slip which they don't all send out.

Yes since COVID lots of little Post Offices have sprung up - even in our local Spar and are ''Open'' as long as the Spar's open - which is brill - but it was a couple of grand to bank and I didn't want to leave it in the PO with little or no comeback. Stupid thing is the local PO is / was next door to Barclays ( now shut ) and talking to the PO they were doing more BB deposits than the bank itself....
Bet that doesn't come up on any E mail survey..

I have a mate who uses Starling. No idea who they use for cheque services, mind. Interestingly, the top five banks in that survey don't have a branch between them. https://www.starlingbank.com/

The one and only time I've used bad language to someone in a call centre was a wanker at RBS. When I'd run out of swear words with him I got his boss on the phone and ranted at him. Cost me £80 in phone calls from the US which I eventually got back. I closed the account when I got back to the UK and went to First Direct. No problems at all with them.

Who are owned by HSBC. And there's the problem, in part. Being members of such payment schemes as CHAPS or Faster is expensive in terms of money, resource, compliance, etc., so invariably shiny, fresh new banks need to use the big UK banks for their services, so there's no escaping the monolithic dinosaurs.

I've worked there a couple of times and it was a strange place. I've worked for several commercial banks and mostly they are pretty similar because a good idea at one is quickly picked up by the others. The way RBS works is someone senior has an idea (or a backhander) and it is implimented, nobody who wants to keep their job questions it so the bad idea never gets fixed.

Hermes. OK this is not there fault to the main issue but they are still boiling my piss regardless. You cant talk to anyone to find where your parcel is. Live chat is automated and teh phone option also what kicks you off as it cant recognise the tracking number you are trying to tell it. Ebay are just as shit but with them i pretend i am deaf and you still get an email option.
Anyway my parcel i sent never got delivered. Apparently courier was there but could not deliver it and its getting sent back to me. Sunday there was no change to the tracking online and half today. When it did change i wanted to know where it was getting sent as it never says so spend two hours going round and round. Contacted buyer again to show him the picture of the alleged delivery attempt and i get Oops. Silly git forgot to update his address with ebay when he moved house so at least we know what is happening with the parcel now but its still shit show for Hemese. First time i have had a problem with them but it will also be the last. Back to using the PO from now on.

Bennetts Insurance have just BMP. £42 to simply remove a bike from the policy! To add one where they have to look up the bike, get quotes etc, but to tick the delete box, they can fook right off come renewal time.
