Funnily enough I was looking at that earlier... one nonsensical news article tried to claim it was likely evidence of an earthquake.

It's down near RAF Lyneham. Oh, and people are still trying to drive down it.

Snake Pass was also closed due to landslips.

On Safer Highways news today!

A major route between Sheffield and Manchester will be closed for weeks following landslides caused by Storm Eunice and Franklin.

Three locations on the mile-long section of the A57 have been affected between Glossop and Ladybower Reservoir.

Two of the areas of slippage were already being monitored, however, a third slip appeared along the road where the verge has dropped by two metres after the heavy rainfall.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire County Council stated visitor facilities at Fairholmes are unaffected and can be accessed via Sheffield.

They also said the closure is in place for a month and it’s too early to say when the road will be able to reopen.

Putting the boot in and getting some air
Taking off? Easy
Landing? Probably more complicated

Landing is a piece of piss, gravity does all the work.
Landing and being able to continue on your journey, now that may have an element of luck about it.

Serious hat on. Those signs are advising of a series of bends, the first one being a right hand bend and as it says "slow down". If it were a road in reasonable condition I'd be moving over to the left as soon as I saw them. What I would do if that were a real scenario is stopping the bike and taking pictures before feeling very adventurous and carrying on for the crack while worrying about my belly-pan and exhaust.

I'd turn round, go home and fetch a skateboard. (If I was 16 again :D ).

Look at the sign again - it goes up and down, not left and right
