The Wife’s birthday today. She said she wanted something with Diamonds in. Apparently, I’m not funny!

Re: What have you done today thread?
It was yesterday, but I took the wife for a day out to London. The place was absolutely buzzing. People/tourists everywhere. Fantastic atmosphere and the sun was shining! We'd intended to walk over to Borough Market, then grab a tube to Covent Garden, but despite my crippleness and spurred on the by the verve of the place, we carried on walking down the south bank. Stopped at The Real Greek for a spot of lunch, which was lovely, then carried on to Blackfriars bridge and across and up into Covent Garden.
Again the place was absolutely buzzing with a great atmosphere. Sadly, most pubs had queues to get in, but we managed to get into The Wellington. Waste of time though as the rugby was on and it was heaving and full of "Whinging Welsh"! As I was losing the ability to actually walk by then and it was turning really chilly, and having no desire to eat another meal, we decided to head for home. great day out and feel very lucky to be able to reach such a great city in just 40 minutes by train!

Went to the Bristol Classic Bike show at Bath & West Showgrounds (which is nowhere near Bristol).
Some fantastic bikes on show and it was good good to catch up with some old faces, its the first one since 2019.

Rode out to Arundel via Petworth with a friend. It was great to get out - bit chilly towards the end and washed my bike as soon as I got back Didn't stop for pics.

Just finished my tax return, nothing like leaving it until the last minute.
I still don't understand all of what I'm putting in there but as it said I only owe them 20p extra I'll take that as a good result.

Four services today. Spoke with a friend whose wife's sister and father are stuck in Ukraine. Very scary and worrying. A bit tired, but a good type of tired. Wife prepared a fabulous fresh stir fry which I just had to cook up quickly and enjoy. She is helping daughter with registering for Universities. Time to have a nice cider now I think.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I've been having an awesome conversation with the girl in the next bed. She was leaving this morning and so we were both awake at silly o'clock.
She was so good to talk to. Let me stumble a bit and fish around for the words I needed!! So we've had some laughs!!!
Back to having a room to myself for a bit so have written a load of questions for the nurse dealing with my exit papers. Got to find out how often I need to see the nurse once I get back, when I have to see the surgeon again for a check up, etc etc
Gonna be a bit chilly - have to go home in pyjamas as forgot to add jeans to the list of stuff my friend threw in a bag as I was leaving in the ambulance!! LOL
But, despite the challenges that being at home in a tiny apartment up a load of stairs will bring, I can't wait to be back there tomorrow!!!

I found out why Ukrainian women were grating polystyrene for Molotov cocktails. Makes the flammable liquid sticky apparently.

Did you not have a copy of the Anarchists Cookbook as a kid?
It's homemade napalm.

Re: What have you done today thread?
It's was a text file on a Amiga floppy disk, copied over and over until pretty much everyone with an Amiga at school had a copy.Mussels wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 12:46 pmI didn't and now it's likely to get me in trouble I really really want one.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 12:40 pmDid you not have a copy of the Anarchists Cookbook as a kid?

IIRC there was a recipe for smoke bombs made from Epsom Salts as well as the Napalm.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Polystyrene makes it stick and if you add phosphorous you can't put it out with water (and the victim gets phosphorous poisoning so you get a burnt, sick casualty, which is a bigger hindrance than a corpse). The evolution/development of napalm is pretty sickening. It should be up there with nerve gas and barrel bombs on the list of proscribed weaponry.
