It's a badge engineered Husqvarna, which is a badge engineered KTM.
Bloke I know has just bought the Husqvarna, the side without the pipe has a flippin' massive white plastic side panel.
It's kind of less obvious on the GasGas because of the paint job.

Both of them look infinitely superior to the air filterless cafe racer things that the hipsters keep knocking up so yeah.

Re: New street legal bikes from GasGas
Went into a dealership a few weeks ago i hadnt been into in years and they had always been Honda. Upstairs floor is now filled with Husqvarna and Gas Gas bikes, both off road and road legal. I will admit to being surprised at seeing street Gas Gas bikes as i had always thought of them as trials or MX.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 8:06 pm It's a badge engineered Husqvarna, which is a badge engineered KTM.
Like you i regard them as KTM's under another badge

Gas Gas made road legal Enduro bikes 25 years ago, when they were made in Spain, Wratty had a 200

Re: New street legal bikes from GasGas
They did a 200, 250 and a 300 two stroke road legal Enduro bike and a 250 road legal 'trails' stylee bike called the Pampera. Later they did a 400cc two stroke.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 9:27 pm Gas Gas made road legal Enduro bikes 25 years ago, when they were made in Spain, Wratty had a 200
Cos I read it all in TBM... 25 years ago. Is TBM still a thing?

Re: New street legal bikes from GasGas
I hope TBM isn't still going because Si Melber was an utter arse hole.
I knew a woman called Sophie who had a Pampera 3, brilliant little trail bike.
The 400 was a 4 stroke, the engine was quite similar looking to the DRZ400 engine, I seriously looked at buying one, but Gas Gas went out of business before I bought it.

Re: New street legal bikes from GasGas
I dunno why I typed 400 two stroke, because I meant 400 four stroke.
Maybe all the rum.

Re: New street legal bikes from GasGas
Those are rebadged KTMs, the original Gas Gas bikes were designed and made in Spain, the two strokes were good, but I think the 400/450 four stroke crippled them financially.Yorick wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 9:44 pm Plenty of new Gas Gas bikes for sale

I've owned two Spanish built bikes.
Both Honda's built in the Montesa factory.

Re: New street legal bikes from GasGas
I've ridden a couple of Spanish bikes, an Ossa trials bike and a Bultaco, I wanted to hire a Derbi Senda in Rhodes but the hire company wouldn't hire it to me, they could see I was going to thrash the tits out of it off road.

Re: New street legal bikes from GasGas
My mum had a Derbi Senda 'Bad Boy' 50.
It was faster than the TS50X it replaced.
She took it round the clock with no issues (but the clock only went up to 9999).

Is it embarrassing, knowing that your mum is way cooler than you'll ever be?KungFooBob wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 10:03 pm My mum had a Derbi Senda 'Bad Boy' 50.
