I just brimmed the car, having spent £40 in store to get 7p a litre off.

I was only showing 20 miles range, does it still count as panic buying?

So paniced was my buying I forgot I had one of those vouchers in the glovebox of the mighty 5er.

Was it hiding under gunny?

And with the boom, ping, ping it ain't no thing to blast; on greedy motherfuckers that trespass.

He didn't wake me up for anything so I'm assuming that there was no panicking.

Is that a thing over there then ? How does he access your car, do you leave it open ? I’d go for that here as I hate filling up but of course no way we could leave our cars open

I have a qashqai, I rarely lock it.

At times I'm tempted to leave the keys in it and pray

I've left my car unlocked outside my house loads of times. Not on purpose though

I'm pretty sure the 'man comes your house to fill your car' is a thing here, ISTR reading about it in one of the car mags.

My car is often left unlocked on the drive during the week.
Wife has deliveries of spares for work dropped in her car every other night, the courier has a set of her keys, the courier company has a set of keys for every 'engineers' car in the country.

Just passed the local station. No queues, just the usual 3 or 4 cars. May go and get a coffee there as the landscaper chap says it's the best around. I suspect he means it's judderman strength.

Passed a BP garage on the way here and there were no queues so I’ll top mine up on the way home. It’s not panic buying though as I do this every pay day. It’s got over half a tank already though, so I’ll enjoy the sneers!

I still have the 'car coat' someone gave me, it's actually a cold storage coat (for if you work in a cold storage warehouse) and I needed it because I used to have an old company Escort van with a broken heater, so it was bitter during the winter. My boss wouldn't fix it

You're talking to a man who's first job (not counting a newspaper delivery monopoly in my 'hood when I was 13) was in Bejam, the original frozen food store. Minus 25 in the cold room with 'coats' that were in rags and gloves that were not worth the bother of putting on. A few hours in there stacking boxes of frozen burgers and Neapolitan ice cream soon sorted the men from the boys.

I've seen frozen things you people wouldn't believe..... I still won't eat pre-frozen sausages, that's for sure.

Worked one Easter (school hols) in the freezer/warehouse at 'Chubby Chicken' stacking boxes of frozen chickens on pallets. That was supposed to be 30 mins in 30 mins out but the old lags used to loaf around playing cards and leave me and my mate in there. You couldn't just stroll out because the boxes used to keep piling in on the rollers from the packing room.

We got donkey jackets and gloves. The old gits had one-piece arctic suits. Wimps.

I was led in great wisdom to fill the car two days ago. I've got a lot of driving to do the next couple of weeks, so I have better make sure I can get around. Extra toilet paper acquired, extra tin of tuna and baked beans.
