I dropped into Rotec cycles yesterday as i was waiting for a mate to turn up at a datacenter. Sadly the boy Stefan didn't have anything on the shelf he could flog me that's compatible. No massive shock there really i guess in current climes, things come into stock and go straight back out the day after at the moment.
So i was left with 2 choices.
1. Nukeproof Neutron https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/nuk ... prod195303
Either he could source from Nukeproof or i could get direct myself from CRC
2. Hope Pro4. (with various rims).

Despite them being the more expensive option i went with the Hope Pro4 rear. Mostly as i said earlier, you know where you are with them, they do exactly what they say, everywhere carries spares and it'll be under warranty from Rotec too. He's ordered a hub which he'll build with my choice of rim out of 4 choices he has, there's a HALO he recommends and the Fortus which are the usual rims, i'll mostly just go with 'whatever you decide is best', it's what he does day in day out, so makes sense for him to decide. He's also ordered a full wheel, but they seem to be on a 2-4 week build time from HOPE, so it's more than likely he'll end up building it.

This morning i was up early doors and in the garage about 5.30am, took the freehub apart to see if i can work out why the sodding current wheel is so noisy, i didn't replace the freehub bearings that long ago... Checked them and they seem silky smooth. However the main wheel hub bearings, well they're past their best. They're 6902's which most wheels are these days, but unless i've missed something, i don't have any here, so have had to order a pair online. They're not crazy money. So i've stuffed them with grease and will see if a pair of bearings come into stock for the chainstay that are due today from Whyte to my other LBS Banjo Cycles, if they do, i'll shoot into town to collect those, along with seeing if Banjo or other local shops have any 6902s i can take off the shelf today.

Got a day booked with the boy tomorrow at Forest of Dean for pre-race practice, so would be nice if we could get the bearings before that so i can test and see out on the trails if that's resolved this wheel.

@weeksy

I have a Spank wheel corrected for boost spacing, sitting in the man shed.
You can borrow it if you need to ...

Thanks mate, i'm sure my old one will be fine once i throw some bearings at it, certainly good enough until the Hope gets built.

But thank you anyway.

Well today could be the G170s last goodbye ride.

Took it to the Forest of Dean with my lad. Ended up bumping into @Taff and his boy for a natter too, great to see you.

I decided to set a time on Launchpad, the fast flowing trail to the car park. It's a trail I know reasonably well so between that and 417 the other day I can gauge the new Trek.
Tomorrow morning I'm dropping it over to my mates house, he bought my T130 and it's possible I won't see it again. Well that's not true as we ride together, but it'll then be his not mine. He's having it for the weekend to test.
Weirdly the seatpost cable is playing up, so may need a new cable as the adjuster is maxed out. Or at the least a re tension. But I'll do that before he hands over any case.

After regreasing the bearings it's all quiet.
