I seem to remember that VW have, in the past, offered up numbers that were not borne out in reality. Yorick was being funny.

This is a big deal.

https://www.reuters.com/markets/europe/ ... 022-02-18/
Members of a trans-Pacific trade pact have agreed that Britain can proceed with its bid to join the group, Japan said on Friday, as it looks for new trading relationships after leaving the European Union.
The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) is a free trade agreement (FTA) between Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, New Zealand, Singapore and Vietnam.
If the UK is admitted to full membership this will include four of the Five Eyes, with the remaining 'eye' being the USA which will hopefully either become a future member, or negotiate a separate trade deal with the UK.

No, no, Britain is really close to the Pacific. I expect the Tories have an oven ready deal ready to go and all will be well.

Amazon Smile, the charitable end of Bezos' business has booted BLM off it's list of beneficiaries over the small matter of a missing 60 million dollars. The move deprives BLM of a major revenue source and comes less than two years after Amazon itself donated $10 million to BLM and 11 other social justice groups. It becomes the latest in a line of big corporates to pull funding.

Intel pledged $1 million to a number of social justice groups, including BLM, in late May of 2020, but the chipmaker ended up not providing any funding to BLM.

Cisco committed $5 million to BLM and other social justice groups in June 2020, but never followed through on its pledge to contribute to BLM.

Subsequently the California DOJ has threatened to hold the leaders of Black Lives Matter personally liable over the charity's missing financial records.

BLM confirmed they had $60 million in their bank accounts at the end of 2020 after their coffers were filled with donations following the May 2020 killing of George Floyd.

In December 2020 BLM was officially registered as a charity, but it has not provided its latest tax return, and the 2019 filing has a non-existent address.

BLM's co-founder and executive director, Patrisse Cullors, resigned in May 2021 amid scrutiny of her $3.2 million property empire.

Cullors said that two people, Makani Themba and Monifa Bandele, were taking over but in September they said they never accepted the roles .

Amazon boots Black Lives Matter off AmazonSmile as scrutiny intensifies

Amazon kicked Black Lives Matter off its charity platform AmazonSmile on Tuesday as the social justice organization faces intense scrutiny from multiple states over the status of its financial windfall from 2020.

I don’t think Lassa is airborne, is it?

Facts never get in the way of a good sensationalist headline though.

It's a bit sensationalist to call that a sensationalist headline.

Camilla was told she would be called queen if Charles becomes king, just before she visited her mother in law with covid. Hmm.

Perhaps Charles will again contract Covid and insist on a Homeopathic cure?
