Insurance- recommendation

Post by Supermofo »

Currently with Bennetts with the 690 but they are out of the running for the GSX as they are £50 odd more expensive and with an extra £200 excess (£550 rather than £350). Pity as Bennetts have been alright over the multiple times I've used them over the years.

Cheapest 2 are Devitts (£194) and Carol Nash (£204). Not used either before. Any reason to pay more for CN? Else I'll go with Devitts I don't recall any bad stories with them but let me know if that's wrong!!

Finally the 690. Insurance runs out 3 days before it ships off in exchange for the Suzi. It's been in the garage safe for 6 years...do I risk no insurance? Must admit it does scare me as it's a fair chunk of the Suzi money. Anyone ever managed to sort out short term insurance and if so where from? I'll ask Devitt/CN if they'll do it when I call about the Suzi hoping they might do it for an admin fee.

I've used Devitt for about the last 3 years or so, always been very competitive on price. Never had to claim, so can't comment on that side....

Used Hastings quite a bit because they're usually cheapest. Not had to claim so couldn't comment on that side of things.

Yeah I've used Hastings in the past for the same reason. Luckily not had to claim so don't know if they are bad at that or not.

It's a nice business to be in, insurance. I've never claimed either.

That was easy. Called Devitts and they insured my Duke for a year, then did a change of policy from the 25th. They waved the admin fee and inc the change was £215.

Before that I'd tried bikesure for a 4 day policy and it was 40 quid!!
