That's what you fit when you're experimenting to save doing it tubeless.

So this is how a mullet G-170 looks.
After testing, both myself and the small boy agree it rides absolutely HORRIBLY !!! You can REALLY notice the wheel size difference compared to the 27.5 and neither of us liked it, not even a little teeny tiny bit.

Aah, so that's what a Mullet is! I've been watching Bike Reviews on YT and they bang on about Mullets but nothing I've watched has ever said what one is.

I@m assuming ther geometry of a proper mullet will be significantly different to your Whyte with an 29er shoved in the front?

Re: NBD, the Raspberry mullet. ! Specialized Status 140
There's a question. Probably is the answer. The Whyte can be bought as both a 27.5 and a 29er with the same frame. But as a mullet it felt very wrong. Is that because it's wrong as a mullet or wrong because i don't like 29er fronts... That's the question i can't say 100% an answer to.
Either way, it was an interesting experiment for me and passed an hour on a windy morning while waiting for a HPe engineer to get to site.

The mullet works well on the BFe ( only because eI have never stuck a 29 inch wheel in the back - the one negative about the BFe is the high BB - so that is sorted ).
It was horrible in the FlareMax
But both of these are 29ers - not 27.5.
But If the Whyte can be had as 29/27.5 I can't see why there is such a big difference - but does it use a different rear shock?

Horrible.
I quite liked yours but I think that's because the front wheel is less far out

Could be, my trek also works great but is a 29r from the factory. I thought mullets were usually done by taking a 29r and putting a smaller rear wheel in rather than starting with a 27.5r ?

Errrrm dunno really. Most are now factory designed.
Mine can be bought as either a 29 or 27.5, well it could at the time. Not sure what that changes in terms of answers though.
Either way, I didn't like it.

Yes. And if you change a 29e rear to a 27.5 you normally use shorter forks, or if Trek change the Mino Link from low to high to raise the rear, to compensate for the smaller rear diameter.
