Can't knock a Sub - classic piece.
I actually wear mine more than I thought I would, since having mine I've rarely worn my old faithful Seamaster and even the Speedmaster I bought has only be worn a handful of times.
I would do the whole watch / steering wheel thing but Volvo doesn't have the same ring as Porsche

The Subs look a lot nicer IRL than they do in pictures, it's a nicely crafted watch and you really can't go wrong with them, you can flog it ten minutes later (if you wanted) for about £3k more. It's literally better than money in the bank.
Lovin' the shirt BTW, for some reason I find chequered twill fascinating How only 3 or 4 colours add up to so many different things
EDIT: That's not twill actually, it's plain weave I think.

If you look carefully you can see the oversized, pink diamante-studded, over-sized key ring that adorns to Figgy key.

Pah, if you look closely at mine you'll see it's not a normal Mercedes key, it's an AMG one!

Re: The Official Watch Thread.
I really like that. I don't like watches often. I never wear one because I struggle to find one I like that looks good on my wrist. And so rarely take any notice of them. I went to the IWC in Geneva with a friend a few years ago and didn't see anything that I liked!!! I was almost embarrassed to admit it after we'd left!! LOL
but that one is really nice!!

Re: The Official Watch Thread.
I have an IWC Portofino, which is lovely, but after a few glasses of wine in a dimmed restaurant, with my failing eyesight I have to admit that I find it hard to quickly tell the time. The chronograph face is quite busy, if you see what I mean.
To counter this, I have a Mondaine which is so well designed that i can tell the time from the other side of a football pitch.

Re: The Official Watch Thread.
It was a lovely experience!!
Never been in a shop with a proper doorman!! And I wasn't dressed for posh shopping (seasonaire clothes really don't go with that kinda shop - even less the pink hair!! LOL).
Whilst my friends watch was being cleaned (or something) and he was being shown some others, he had a coffee and I had water. When I joked with him that he got a posh chocolate with his coffee but cos I had water I didnt' get any, the guy he was talking to signalled to someone else and I ended up leaving with a little box of posh chocolates If I had loads of money and liked their watches, I'd go and find one to buy just cos of that!!!
But I don't and so wont'!! LOL

Re: The Official Watch Thread.
I bought mine in Abu Dhabi when their sponsored Spitfire was doing a round the world trip. They asked if we would like to go to the little soiree that they were having, but Sod's Laws dictated that we were leaving the day prior. Bugger.

I find that if I can't take a sneak peek at the time, the best course of action is to yawn loudly, roll my eyes and say, 'Fuck me! Don't you go on?! Give yer fucking arse a chance, you boring twat'.

Re: The Official Watch Thread.
I really like them, I especially like the delayed tic of the second hand at the 12 o'clock point.
.....but, every time I've tried one I don't feel the love as much as when I see a pic of one.

Re: The Official Watch Thread.
No need to buy one. If you need to know the time I'll just hold mine up to the window. You'll see it from your place.

Re: The Official Watch Thread.
Do the Swiss Railway Clock watches do the 'delayed start' on the second hand then? I kinda assumed they didn't! I know the clocks come in version which do and which don't, the former being shit loads more expensive.

Re: The Official Watch Thread.
They do. They're all based on the Swiss railways's iconic clocks which do the 'second hand stop-minute hand advance-second hand start' thing. It's quite mesmerising* to watch. You can buy the Mondaine watches which do it (they're not at all expensive watches, BTW) called Stop2Go. You often find me in John Lewis gazing into the display case, whispering to myself, "57, 58, 59....wait for it....there it goes!" But then I'm very easily entertained.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 2:26 pm Do the Swiss Railway Clock watches do the 'delayed start' on the second hand then? I kinda assumed they didn't! When I say "shit loads more expensive"; I think it's something like £300 for a wall clock which does it, vs £50 for one which doesn't. Something like that anyway.
