14 x 6802s that's a LOT of bearings lol.... fortunately i have all the correct tools... But i'm pretty sure i don't have 14 spare bearings at the moment hahahaha. I do have 4-6 though as many of them are found on the Sworks.... but it looks like i'll need to stock up on 6802s for the future.

Fortunately the manual for the Status is excellent, even showing the flipchip configuration

I guess the need for bearings is going to depend on who well they are protected
But being a Specialized it probably has to have Specialized only bearings in Specialized sizes ...

It's pretty much identical to his Sworks in that context and his haven't been terrible. I've done a full set swap once and 2 bearings once, that's in over a year of racing and ridings lots in very bad conditions. So it shouldn't be too bad.

I had issues when I bought my Cannondale from them because it had been delivered to a specialised store, who then insisted to me that they wouldn't have a Cannondale in their stockroom.
They did have it, tucked away in a corner somewhere and the computer knew more than the staff did.

A mate is a retailer - one of the largest chains darn sarf - so represent one of the largest customers for all the major brands and even they can't get confirmations of what's being delivered and when until a week before it's thrown in the container. And then there's UK customs to get through.......

There's a left-field option of a Remedy 9.8 which is crazy light, fast and 29 both ends lol.

It's OK mate, between me and the lads we've got plenty i can steal for testing locally. But in honesty i'm not sure i'll actually bother.

I could go mullet, could go full 29, i could even buy some spare wheels for different tyres for 27.5 (i've already got a rear) but the reality is, i need to work on me, not the bike. The other reality is, it doesn't actually much matter. It's only on race days i'm not on the pace, out with mates, i'm at the reasonable end of OK, I rarely get left on anything, especially once it gets Tech. So just carry on, ride along and enjoy myself. I'm enjoying MTBing as much as i ever have, so no need to get terribly worried about it all.

I'd say it fits... but it's not getting any bigger or burlier in terms of clearance than the 2.25 that's on there now. Obviously a 2.25 Rapid Rob isn't what we'd call an Enduro tyre... but at the right time and place it'd be worth a test. The wheel is 100*15 but happily i have some boost spacers in the spare drawer as you'd expect. So it fits and is fine. I'll certainly go outside once i've thrown a rotor on it later and see how it feels as a test.
