I expect they're all pressing the donate button every month then.
I think I love you

But no.. no one ever throws the dog a bone.
Introduce a 'new bike tariff'. You can't have a new bike without paying £20. Consultation on which new bike to get £30. :D
They'd either not buy one or not tell us and we then miss out on post counts

Thing is, for him as with a fair few on here, £200 a month doesn't exist, change anything or affect anything. So it's really just a case of want. Or not want.
No I get that, drop in the ocean and all that jazz.
But I'm weird, I don't see the point in spending 1 penny total let alone a month on anything that's not going to get used regardless of your bank balance.

The hookers will wash the bike once a week if you play your cards right.
That could get spendy;

You don't get to consider £200 a month insignificant by going around pressing donate buttons!

Unless your treating it like a month long test drive, what's the point in leasing. 🤷🏻‍♂️

£200 / per month ? is that Honda UK deal and is there deposit required ? there is a certain attraction to it - if there's no deposit but remember your actually hiring it - @ £2400 per year or £7200 over 3 years.

But the Bike reviews come out very good. Just watch the excess mileage charge and what they consider acceptable condition when potentially handing it back. Mate got a KTM 1250 Adventure thing on such a scheme and had been belting it about the farm probably rounding up the sheep - and he doesn't do cleaning..

Just had a dab around UK hire and the prices are more like £275/weekend. £200/month looks very cheap.

Is it a lease or a pcp, £200pm for a pcp sounds about right.

I’ve never seen a lease option on any bike as yet.

We'll have to wait until he wakes up but from what he said earlier he wants a month by month deal and 12 months is too long I think. He said lease, maybe they do things differently in Dubai - surprised anything is cheap though.

I can easily afford £200 a month on a bike because I won't layout £200 a month on a bike, buy things, don't lease them, leasing is just giving money to a finance company.

Swings and roundabouts innit.

It all depends on the cost of the depreciation.

Or you can it and watch it depreciate instead?

Maybe. Although John Paul Getty did say that if it appreciates, buy it. If it depreciates then lease it.

If you're gonna ride it then go for it. 200 notes not to bother is a bit depressing on multiple fronts.

Potter wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 2:13 am But all week I've been waking up and thinking "If I had a brand new bike of my choice on the drive today then would I go for a ride?" And the answer every morning so far is no. So there doesn't seem to be much point in paying monthly to stare at a motorbike that will cost me money, even though it is pretty.
I'm guessing that doesn't matter which bike it is ? Would the Ducati Desert thing make you ? If not, then you're in a position where i wouldn't buy ANY bike at all currently in your position.

I've been there, been you in that context. Currently as you'll have seen i'm WAY more into MTB than motorbikes, they're my wheels of choice. But i do still have the urge to ride a motorbike, not always, but sometimes.... Hence me still having one. Even if it's only once or twice a month, i don't mind the outlay sitting there.

I'm the same, I rarely waste money and I usually buy carefully with a view to it being an appreciating asset, but the value of the RE was written off as soon as I bought it, I always knew I'd lose money on it. The way I viewed it is it cost me a bit to own it for the year and I think I got that much value back from it, my lad used it to learn on and that on it's own was worth it. If I amortise that cost/value in good memories over a lifetime then it's peanuts.
Out of interest, what did the RE cost per month over your ownership? Anything close to 200?

I nearly bought an African Twin recently. I really liked the headlights (sidelights?) on the 1100 model. It'd have to be the Adventure Sports version though, it makes the standard one look dead wee and nesh.

I ended up getting the KTBoom so it's all moot.

£200 a month is £2400 over a year, probably about the same as buying and then selling a new one I'd guess.
To a kid looking up to me, life ain't nothing but bitches and money.
