Tennis elbow. Bloody painful and I have no idea what I've been doing to cause it. It seems to calm down then flare up again.
Ice and ibuprofen are the order of the day, I suppose.

I had a steroid injection when I had it and it went away for a while and then came back, a second injection sorted it out permanently.gremlin wrote: Wed Feb 16, 2022 3:15 pm Tennis elbow. Bloody painful and I have no idea what I've been doing to cause it. It seems to calm down then flare up again.

Started about 4 weeks ago. I've done nothing that I haven't done before, so no idea why. I do a fair bit of training (boxing, weights, HIIT, etc) so it's bloody annoying. Even things like picking up a cuppa is painful.JamJar wrote: Wed Feb 16, 2022 3:20 pmI had a steroid injection when I had it and it went away for a while and then came back, a second injection sorted it out permanently.gremlin wrote: Wed Feb 16, 2022 3:15 pm Tennis elbow. What with my dodgy Achilles and my recent limbo-dancing injury, I'm falling to bits.

Check your form and technique, bloody rowing gave me golfers elbow, something to do with weird angles between wrist and elbow whilst under pressure / straingremlin wrote: Wed Feb 16, 2022 3:24 pmStarted about 4 weeks ago. There's an obvious joke there, but can't see it. Might rhyme with your job?gremlin wrote: Wed Feb 16, 2022 3:15 pm Tennis elbow. Bloody painful and I have no idea what I've been doing to cause it. It seems to calm down then flare up again.

It just a career choice that keeps on giving in terms of insults and childish euphemisms.

S'culture, innit?
My favourite after dinner conversation piece is around the proliferation of 'Gropecunt Lanes' in the UK, prior to the PC brigade renaming them all. I get the chance to drop the C-bomb and use the excuse that it's part of local history research, before the missus kicks me under the table.

Never heard of that before, but loving the fact the name is supposed to be taken at face valuegremlin wrote: Wed Feb 16, 2022 4:36 pmS'culture, innit?

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
Something that has literally just pissed me off is my twat-arsed hound (see profile pic). We have double doors into the living room. We keep them shut during the day, just because we do. Lately we've found them open and the dog laying on the rug, or risking life and limb with Mrs. G., on the sofa!.
Just watched her open the doors by standing on her back legs and pushing the doors open with her front paws. Cheeky bitch.
(I'm actually quite impressed

Train and platform overcrowding at 7:30 in the morning when many people are still working from home.

Add to that the reduction in services due to the storms, the cleanup from the last storm, the drivers who didn't come into work today, the engineering work planned for the 'quiet' winter months.... etc etcv8-powered wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 8:26 amFair few operators still aren't running a full service, know on our route we aren't....Mussels wrote: Thu Feb 17, 2022 8:07 am Train and platform overcrowding at 7:30 in the morning when many people are still working from home.

Re: Insignificant/ Significant things that BYP or just wind you up a little
The M27 "smart" motorway has been opened. No hard shoulder so there's four lanes and it's all "controlled" by information from the gantries above the motorway. This is supposed to give additional volume for traffic and to keep it moving by varying speed limits (all since been debunked and the whole Smart Motorway thing rubbished but hey, they pressed on anyway).
What everyone knew but no-one considered was that what the hundreds of millions that it costs meant that every cunt and his wife now sits in lane three passing no-one at 4 mph below the speed limit passing no-one on the inside two lanes. So with our ridiculous traffic laws you've just created miles of expensive, empty tarmac and a lot more pissed of drivers who want these fuckers out of the way!
