I would say so. What make is it? I thought this bike was way more than 10 years old.

It's three Winters caused that,as it will on any marque of bike. I live on the coast and never had bother with any recent car or bike,but I don't use a bike in Winter now.

Road salt eats stuff and very quickly,no matter where you live in the UK.

In other news, I've just ordered some wire bush drill bits and some polishing drill bits - It's going to be another fun packed weekend.

Sometimes it takes a bit of lying on the floor and getting the hands into the tricky to reach parts... Obviously i'm far more into this than some/most but it's not impossible. It can be cold and damp and horrible though of course

The salt and seaside conditions will be a massive factor though, even watching CarSOS a few weeks ago they had i think an Evo 6 and that was from down your way, it looked like it lived IN the sea.

I rode over to Lindisfarne once on my 2012 Street. It's accessed via a 3 mile road that is under sea water twice a day. While the tide was out for the duration, I was cursing all the way thinking that this has to be the worse thing you can do to a bike. Worth a visit though

If you could get the bike in the bath you could try electrolysis.

In 1989 I bought a brand new VFR750 FK, as I needed to get from Stafford to Solihull every day for work. It was basically to be used as a two-wheeled commuter during the week, and in all weathers except snow and ice. Knowing this, the head technician at the bike shop I bought it from took time to do as I suggested Trinity does to the next bike. He took time to copper slip pretty much all the fasteners on the bike. He knew that in the long term it would save him time while he was servicing the bike and save me money as a result. I put over 80k miles on that bike in 6 years and it was still running as sweetly as a new bike when I eventually PX'd it.
