Yes because that wouldn't be true either.

Of the issues SKS was accused of - arguably all of them could be also directed at BJ because of the standard way that the "everyones out to get me" nutters conflate issues -

"traitor"
"supporting vaccinations"
"something about Assange"
"not protecting the working man"
"waaah - my rights under the Magna Carta"

Oh yes, except the one about "protecting paedophiles" - because despite BJs half-apologies and almost-clarifications, that's what it's still out there as.

I don't know why they don't go after Savilles boss at the BBC.

Personally, I find it hard to believe that Starmer wasn't aware of the Saville case. A high profile, possibly serial sexual offender and he's not asked, as the head of the CPS for advice or guidance?

But of course, if he says he didn't know, he probably didn't know.

I have the same opinion of David Attenborough. I gather that Savilles activities were well known and ignored by those who worked with him.

If you google this sort of thing, there's a fair bit of speculation as to 'evidence' and 'testimony' from dozens and dozens of victims and suggestions that "arrests of other abusers linked to Savile are expected imminently, some of them, apparently, household names". And this is speculation from at least 10 years ago. I guess it's not beyond believability that evidence has been buried until the likes of national treasure Attenborough pops off.

Call me naive, but how can a bunch of people working together inside number 10 make more risk by having a glass or three in the garden?

You're naive.

The nation was asked to desist from gathering in groups to reduce the risk of spreading COVID, prior to there being a viable vaccine, by a bunch of people working together inside No 10.

Well, that's the thing isn't it, there is no more risk.

There was only a risk from that sort of gathering if it did not happen at No 10 Downing Street or included 'ordinary folk'.

You're naive.

After how long? 'Standard' practice to have limits on 'data retention', 'right' or not.

(I used lots of inverted commas to make it sound more 'dubious')

Apparently this sort of thing is destroyed as a matter of course, there's no suggestion that it was done extraordinarily.
So there's no documented evidence to prove SKS level of involvement either way. Innocent until proven guilty. Or smeared, obviously.

To put the whole thing in context - if there was genuinely a sniff of this story being a go-er - the likes of the Daily Mail would be shouting this from the rooftops. Far from it, surprisingly (or not - for fear of prosecution), there's not a lot for them to shout about, other than report the evidence. In fact they seem fairly shit-scared of going anywhere near BJ's speculation.

Today’s message from the Rascal’s lair following the photograph in The Mirror.

“there's waaaaay better pics than that floating around, incl in the flat”

Good timing is, of course, essential.

OK, I am naive...but they were already being forced to break the rules justifiably, by working in close proximity....and for the good of the people (in theory).

And, I must add, I am heartily sick of this whole bruhaha...

And so too are others it seems.

“Boris Johnson's premiership is past the point of no return and he should resign, a financier who has given the Conservatives more than £3m says. John Armitage told the BBC that challenges facing the West demanded "serious, engaged" politicians.
He has given the Tories more than £500,000 since Mr Johnson became PM but donated £12,500 last year to Labour.

Mr Armitage, co-founder of the hedge fund firm Egerton Capital, told the BBC's political editor, Laura Kuenssberg, he found the current political situation "tremendously upsetting".

Describing himself as a "middle-of-the-road conservative", Mr Armitage said he admired politicians on the left and right, and said current global challenges to the West required ''very serious, engaged politicians with a sense of purpose".

"Politicians should go into politics to do good for their country," Mr Armitage added. "That is the overwhelming reason to be in politics. I don't think it's about your own personal sense of getting to the top of a snakes-and-ladders game.

"And I feel that, if you lose moral authority, and if you do things which the average person - your mother, someone you try to explain to, someone who you admire - if you do something or say something, which on the front page of the Sunday Times looks terrible, and you do that consistently, and you betray a sense of not really caring, I think you should leave.

"And I find the lack of honour inherent in modern politics, incredibly distressing."

Asked if Mr Johnson was "past the point of no return", he replied: "Well, personally yes."

Mr Armitage has given £3.1m to the Conservatives although he described himself as a "very low-profile person" who does not seek political influence.

He has also given much smaller amounts of money to Labour, made individual donations to the former Labour MP Frank Field, and contributed to the Remain campaign in 2016.”
