I understand the concept of profit but the price for the oil and filter are retail and they won't pay retail and an hourly rate should be about £60 an hour. Even if they mark up more on the parts that still only a hundred quid or so, not £250.

Part of me thinks what the fluck have I done. The other part thinks it's the best thing since chips

They are delivering it 25 Feb which is the earliest they can do. Which is annoying as my 690 insurance runs out on the 22nd So need to look into some sort of short term insurance.

The bike has a warranty till Dec 23. First service is quoted at £250 by Suzuki I'll see what Letchworth or St Neott's prices are like. Apparently I can go to any VAT registered place but think for the first service at least I'll use Suzuki.

So milky bars are on me

Will stick a new bike fred up soon.

I've had a quick look at crash protection. What's best anyone know? Thinking of R&G bungs.

If it helps, just tell yourself that in fact that you did the sensible thing and got something slower/less powerful than a 1290SDR

Seriously though, good on ya, it's the right choice and what bikes are all about IMO, "the one " has to be able to excite you and make you want it



P.S. "the one" can also be plural and is often only limited by available garage/shed space and funds

Suzuki have implemented a new AI driven, predictive, manufacture and supply system.

It scans the internet for 'what bike should I get?' threads and automatically delivers a bike when the thread count gets to 200.

Yamaha have followed up with a competitor system that delivers an MT07 if the thread count falters below 200.

The Chinese are developing their system (codename Amazon) that will deliver a bike before you know you want one.

For engine case covers R&G and GB Racing seem to be the two most common/popular.

I'd agree. I bought the R&G for mine,but I didn't know about GB at the time. I've debated changing them a few times! The R&G polish up to a shine well,if that matters.

R&G stuff currently appears to be a bit slapdash with the quality. Folk complain about the paint falling off tail tidies,etc. The stickers on the engine casings are a bit cheap and nasty,the edges start to lift and look a bit tatty.

Considering both are around the same cost,if I was starting afresh,I'd go for GB Racing.
